Position Overview
Analyst - General Accounts Consolidation in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates is an Accounting opportunity supporting General Ledger activities, monthly accruals, SAP accounting period management, financial reconciliations and consolidation reporting. The role works across Finance and Investment departments to ensure financial information flows accurately and on time into the General Ledger while supporting statutory reporting, audit requirements and Group financial assurance activities.

Role Context
The Analyst supports the integrity of the General Ledger by
Key Responsibilities
* Support the monthly accrual process by following up with relevant directorates and collecting required accrual information.
* Review reported accrual amounts for completeness, consistency and reasonableness before further processing.
* Prepare accrual upload sheets in the required financial system format for submission to the Financial System team.
* Compile monthly accrual reports and submit them for review and approval.
* Coordinate with the Financial System department on the opening and closing of monthly accounting periods in SAP.
* Ensure accounting period activities are completed according to established financial reporting timelines.
* Liaise with Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Fixed Assets, Payroll and other finance departments to obtain required General Ledger information.
* Follow up on reconciliations and supporting documentation needed for accurate monthly closing.
* Prepare financial deliverables requested by Group Financial Assurance to support consolidated financial statement preparation.
* Coordinate with ADNOC Group entities on cost allocations, billing arrangements and related journal entries.
* Review the basis of intercompany cost allocations and assist in ensuring related accounting entries are recorded correctly.
* Generate financial reports from SAP including monthly trial balances and ledger-related schedules.
* Prepare reconciliation of sub-ledgers against the General Ledger and investigate differences.
* Develop commitments and contingencies schedules and other supporting financial reports.
* Participate in quarterly cash call reconciliation activities.
* Identify journal entries required as a result of reconciliation findings.
* Gather financial information required for confirmation responses to Group entities and third parties.
* Support monthly General Ledger closing and verify required activities are completed before finalization.
* Assist in preparing standard work programs used to assess compliance with Group accounting and commercial policies.
* Monitor adherence to accounting procedures, financial policies and ethical requirements.
* Provide financial records and supporting documentation to internal and external auditors.
* Support responses to requests from the Abu Dhabi Audit Authority and company-appointed auditors when required.
* Coordinate with the Controller, General Accounts and Consolidation and other Finance and Investment teams on reporting matters.
* Contribute to preparation of MIS reports and financial progress updates for management.
* Identify opportunities to improve General Ledger processes, reconciliation controls and financial reporting efficiency.
* Support implementation of improved accounting tools, procedures and control techniques.
* Provide input into departmental budgeting activities and investigate significant financial variances when required.
* Maintain compliance with applicable legislation, internal controls and established company standards.
* Support development of assigned staff through practical guidance and knowledge transfer where supervisory responsibilities apply.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting, Business or a Commercial discipline.
* Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in Accounting or Auditing.
* Previous experience within the Oil and Gas industry is preferred.
* Strong understanding of General Ledger accounting and monthly financial close activities.
* Experience preparing and reviewing accruals and journal entries.
* Practical knowledge of sub-ledger to General Ledger reconciliation.
* Experience using SAP for financial reporting and accounting period activities.
* Familiarity with consolidated financial reporting requirements.
* Ability to prepare trial balances, commitments and contingencies schedules and other ledger reports.
* Understanding of intercompany cost allocations, billing and reconciliation processes.
* Experience supporting internal and external audit requirements.
* Strong attention to detail when reviewing financial information and reconciliations.
* Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple finance departments and Group entities.
* Good analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
* Good written and verbal knowledge of English and Arabic.
* Proficiency in ERP systems, spreadsheets and standard financial reporting applications.
