Job Description
This is a corporate accounting role which includes basic financial accounting and accounts payable duties. The Assistant Accountant responsibilities will include accounts payable management and some general ledger management. You will be reporting to the Director, Tax & Accounting. This position will be a key element to the expansion of DHLs finance function, driven by the significant growth experienced by the business and presents a fantastic opportunity to understand and enhance the broad range of functions that need to be performed in a commercial accounting role. You will be supporting our Senior Accounting Specialist in performing the various Head Office accounting and administrative tasks. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparation and processing of month end reporting up to the trial balance stage.
Processing of accruals, prepayments and subsequent journals
Reconciliations including general ledger and Balance Sheet
Assisting with the preparation of budgeting and forecasting process.
Involvement in the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Staff expenses processing.
Assisting in maintenance of the corporate governance software and associated tasks.
Other ad hoc accounting duties to support the Group Finance team
Adhoc Accounts Payable queries.
Travel invoice reporting, accruals and processing.
Monitor and clear GLs during month end (Cheque, AP Bank, Customer Refund).
Reconciling bank and other GL accounts
Raising Journals for month-end closing.
Assistance in vendor setup and vendor management
Monthly reporting on accounts payable systems
Assistance in tax reporting.
