This role involves leading audit engagements, focusing on internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with international standards, and providing advisory value to clients. Core Duties
* Lead and manage audit engagements with emphasis on internal controls over financial reporting
* Assess risks, review controls, and suggest alternative testing strategies when controls are ineffective
* Apply professional skepticism to identify fraud risks or misstatements and communicate findings to governance bodies
* Participate
in group risk assessments and prepare clear referral instructions for component auditors
* Conduct timely reviews of audit files, ensuring completeness and compliance with audit methodology
* Review internal control deficiencies, assess severity, and report findings with recommendations
* Guide audit teams through scoping, scheduling, and responsibilities to meet client and firm deadlines
* Ensure compliance with international accounting and auditing standards, ethical requirements, and regulatory frameworks such as COSO and SOX
* Provide independent assessments of financial reporting processes and support modified opinion situations
Candidate Profile
* Minimum 8 years of experience in external audit with focus on internal controls over financial reporting
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
* Professional qualification required: CA, ACCA, or CPA
* Strong knowledge of SOX, COSO, and other ICFR frameworks
* Proven ability to review audit documentation, evaluate assumptions, and assess data reliability
* Experience in managing audit teams and developing talent through mentoring and feedback
* Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with senior stakeholders
* Fluent in English; US SOX experience is an advantage
