Senior Accountant - Fixed Asset Accounting in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates is an experienced Accounting opportunity responsible for fixed asset registers, depreciation accounting, capital work in progress, asset reconciliations and financial reporting. The role supports accurate representation of ADNOC HQ assets by maintaining robust accounting records, controlling asset additions, transfers and disposals, supporting physical inventories and ensuring fixed asset information satisfies management, financial reporting and audit requirements.

Role Context
The Senior
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to developing and implementing standardized fixed asset accounting guidelines, procedures and control frameworks.
* Maintain ADNOC HQ fixed asset registers in accordance with approved accounting policies and procedures.
* Record asset additions, disposals and transfers accurately to ensure fixed asset balances properly represent underlying transactions.
* Review asset acquisitions, transfers, issues, write-offs and other movements and verify that appropriate accounting records are maintained.
* Calculate and document monthly depreciation in accordance with applicable accounting policies.
* Prepare information required to execute depreciation runs and ensure depreciation is correctly transferred to the General Ledger.
* Review system interface reports and assess the consistency and reasonableness of fixed asset data submitted by Group Companies.
* Reconcile ADNOC HQ fixed asset registers with corresponding Group Company asset records and investigate differences.
* Maintain detailed year-to-year records of capital work in progress.
* Provide capital work in progress information to relevant Directorates for management reporting and decision-making.
* Monitor asset capitalization information and maintain appropriate supporting documentation throughout the asset accounting lifecycle.
* Prepare annual fixed asset schedules supporting balance sheet and profit and loss account reporting.
* Develop procedures for physical verification and inventory of fixed assets.
* Participate in physical asset counts and reconcile inventory results against accounting registers.
* Investigate discrepancies identified between physical assets and fixed asset accounting records.
* Prepare fixed asset schedules and supporting information required for financial statements.
* Provide documentation and reconciliations required for internal and external audit activities.
* Coordinate with auditors on fixed asset accounting queries and provide appropriate supporting records.
* Assist in implementing corrective action plans arising from internal and external audit recommendations.
* Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for significant fixed asset transactions.
* Coordinate with ADNOC Directorates and Group Companies on fixed asset, accounting and audit-related matters.
* Identify opportunities to improve asset accounting controls, reconciliation processes and reporting efficiency.
* Develop practical improvements that strengthen fixed asset data quality and financial control.
* Provide input for departmental budgets and investigate significant variances where required.
* Prepare fixed asset information for MIS and management progress reports.
* Supervise assigned activities and support development of staff through technical guidance and knowledge transfer.
* Perform other related fixed asset accounting responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
* Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Accounting and Finance.
* Strong practical experience in fixed asset accounting and asset register management.
* Sound knowledge of asset capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals and write-offs.
* Experience maintaining and reconciling fixed asset sub-ledgers with the General Ledger.
* Understanding of capital work in progress accounting and capitalization processes.
* Ability to prepare fixed asset schedules supporting financial statements.
* Experience conducting or supporting physical fixed asset inventories and subsequent reconciliations.
* Strong understanding of balance sheet accounting and financial control principles.
* Experience reviewing system-generated financial and asset interface reports.
* Familiarity with internal and external audit requirements relating to fixed assets.
* Ability to investigate accounting discrepancies and implement appropriate corrective actions.
* Strong attention to detail when managing high-volume financial and asset information.
* Experience working with ERP financial systems, fixed asset modules and spreadsheet applications.
* Ability to coordinate effectively with finance teams, Group Companies, business Directorates and auditors.
* Good written and verbal knowledge of English and Arabic.
