Job Overview
As a Contracts Counsel with Qatar Airways, you will play a vital role in managing complex legal negotiations related to aircraft and engine transactions. You’ll collaborate with external counsel, internal stakeholders, and global suppliers to protect the company’s legal and commercial interests across strategic aviation projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft, negotiate, and review contracts related to aircraft and engine sale, leaseback, and financing
* Manage strategic legal agreements and contractual risks across Qatar Airways Group
* Act as the primary legal advisor for assigned technical departments
* Liaise with international law firms on aviation-related finance and procurement deals
* Provide interpretations of contract terms, advise on legal implications, and ensure compliance
* Assist in policy improvements and contract management procedures
* Resolve disputes and identify process optimizations for future transactions
* Prepare high-quality legal documentation in alignment with corporate standards
* Support multiple projects simultaneously and provide legal input on commercial decisions
Job Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent; minimum 8 years of relevant legal experience
* Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction (UK preferred)
* Strong background in aircraft finance, leasing, and purchasing contracts
* In-house legal experience within an airline or top-tier aviation law firm preferred
* Demonstrated experience handling international negotiations and complex legal documentation
* Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
* Able to manage pressure, deadlines, and multiple high-stakes projects
