Job Overview
As a Lead Engineering Officer, you will be responsible for producing and managing detailed engineering instructions such as Engineering Orders (EO) and Engineering Shop Work Cards (ESWC). You will work with source data, service bulletins, mechanical drawings, and internal stakeholders to prepare clear, compliant technical documentation for maintenance execution. Your contribution is key to ensuring aircraft airworthiness and smooth operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Create detailed engineering work instructions based on approved source documents, drawings, and technical data
* Interpret and sequence technical data, diagrams, and illustrations into user-friendly documentation for maintenance personnel
* Coordinate with project engineers to ensure compliance with aviation regulations and internal policies
* Edit, review, and validate task card content for clarity, accuracy, and configuration-specific execution
* Update illustrations using graphical tools and flowchart software where required
* Maintain up-to-date records and document change history within technical publication systems
* Monitor updates in regulatory and manufacturer data and adjust task cards accordingly
* Provide input in technical authorship validation and assist in SB testing scenarios
* Contribute to documentation improvements and standard response procedures
* Ensure compliance with Part M requirements and Qatar Airways’ internal quality system
* Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the department head
Job Requirements
* Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Aeronautical Engineering
* Bachelor\'s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Avionics, or Electrical Engineering preferred
* Minimum 7 years relevant experience, or 4 years with a Bachelor\'s in Engineering
* Familiarity with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and SGML/S1000D tools
* Gen-Fam or Type training on Qatar Airways’ aircraft types is advantageous
* Exposure to civil aviation authority regulations and technical authorship best practices
* Experience in Maintenance Planning, Reliability, or Technical Support under Part M preferred
* ICAO Type II license or Technical Authorship certification would be a plus
