Design and Product Development
- Create and visualize fashion concepts and translate ideas into designs using computer-aided design tools.
- Develop product designs with consideration for technical requirements and commercial objectives.
- Plan and develop product ranges
in line with the assigned brief.
- Work with buyers and forecasters to develop products that meet defined requirements.
- Apply an understanding of design from a technical perspective throughout the development process.
Trend and Market Awareness
- Keep up to date with emerging fashion trends.
- Monitor developments in fabrics, colours, shapes, and broader design directions.
- Apply relevant trend insights when developing concepts and product ranges.
- Consider customer expectations, market positioning, and price points during the design process.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with buying and planning teams throughout product development to ensure each item is appropriate for the intended customer, market, and price point. Maintain ongoing communication with relevant teams as designs and ranges progress.
Design Skills
- Proficiency in computer-aided design.
- Strong working knowledge of current design software, including Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Understanding of fashion design from both creative and technical perspectives.
- Ability to translate ideas and briefs into product designs.
- Awareness of fabrics, colours, shapes, and changing fashion trends.
- Ability to multitask across design and product development activities.
- Proactive approach to assigned responsibilities and cross-functional coordination.
