Senior Master/Urban Planner
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Master/Urban Planner to join our growing team at Azizi, working from our Design Studio at the Al Hudaiba Awards office in Dubai. In this role, you will lead the strategic planning and development of large-scale master plan communities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards. You will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to deliver innovative and sustainable urban designs that enhance community living and contribute to Dubai\'s urban landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Scope of Work for the appointment of External Master Planners and Infrastructure Consultants, including issuing RFPs, responding to RFIs, and managing consultants throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Review the work of outsourced consultants periodically to ensure alignment with design and contract requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams of CAD/BIM Modelers to transform design directions into actionable master plans when projects are managed in-house.
- Develop sketches, diagrams, and area calculations related to land use, developable and non-developable areas, coverages, service area allocation, road networks, amenities, population calculations, height and massing studies, and GFA allocation for properties.
- Prepare Development Control Regulations (DCR) and maintain a disciplined database for easy retrieval and review of planning documents.
- Engage with local authorities to submit documents for approvals, clear CRFs, and facilitate the issuance of planning and construction permits.
- Create presentation packages for senior management, showcasing design concepts, community layouts, and urban planning strategies.
- Provide strategic guidance on international and local standards required for master planning projects.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain the Master Plan Design Guide specific to Azizi Developments, updating it periodically to incorporate improvements and industry best practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in master planning and urban design, with a proven track record of delivering at least 2 master plan communities in Dubai, including obtaining all necessary NOCs and approvals.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international codes and standards for master planning.
- Proficiency in CAD/BIM software relevant to master planning, including AutoCAD, Revit, and GIS tools.
- Expert-level proficiency in MS Office for report writing, data analysis, and presentation preparation.
- Advanced presentation skills with proficiency in Rhino, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Illustrator for creating conceptual designs and presentation decks.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills for accurate population calculations, area fitments, and coverage analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and local authorities.
- Ability to provide strategic direction, mentor junior team members, and contribute to team development.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of sustainable urban design practices and community development principles is a plus.
