Role Context
The Andon - Volvo Service Operations role supports daily workshop performance by guiding technicians, monitoring operational indicators, resolving service challenges, and helping the team maintain high standards in productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The role combines technical leadership with practical workshop coordination, making it valuable for service centers that need smooth workflow, accurate repairs, and stronger aftersales performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Aftersales Manager and Personal Service Technicians to improve service processes, support training completion, handle quality concerns, and contribute to a more efficient Volvo service experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead daily team meetings to review workshop priorities, work in progress, technical concerns, and service center performance.
* Monitor operational indicators and support short-term and long-term planning to keep workshop activity within target levels.
* Coach Volvo Personal Service Technicians on technical repairs, administrative processes, quality standards, and service workflow.
* Provide practical guidance during diagnostic, maintenance, and repair activities to support accurate and timely job completion.
* Coordinate workshop improvement actions focused on 5S, productivity, service quality, and customer experience.
* Support customer complaint handling by reviewing technical issues, identifying root causes, and helping the team apply corrective action.
* Track technician development needs and encourage completion of required training, process updates, and service standards.
* Contribute to customer retention by supporting value-added service sales, follow-up activities, and consistent service delivery.
* Maintain strong communication with the Aftersales Manager regarding workshop capacity, productivity gaps, quality issues, and improvement plans.
* Ensure the service team follows dealership standards, safety practices, repair procedures, and manufacturer expectations.
* Help reduce operational costs by improving workflow discipline, technician efficiency, and first-time repair quality.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service center performance and customer satisfaction.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate has 4-5 years of experience as a technical lead, senior technician, workshop coordinator, or similar role within an automotive dealership aftersales environment. Experience with premium or commercial automotive service operations will be an advantage, especially where customer satisfaction, productivity, and workshop quality are closely measured.
A Bachelor degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, or Industrial Engineering is preferred. The candidate should have a strong understanding of workshop operations, vehicle service processes, technician coaching, repair quality, and dealer standards.
A valid UAE driving license is required. Good English communication, attention to detail, basic PC knowledge, and the ability to guide a busy team in a fast-paced workshop environment are important for success.
