Role Context

The Cost Clerk - Automotive Job Costing plays an important role in supporting service department efficiency by ensuring that each job card is reviewed, verified, costed, and processed correctly. The role helps the service team claim approved manufacturer repair time, minimize lost productive hours, improve work-in-progress control, and maintain accurate financial and operational records within the automotive aftersales business.

Key Responsibilities

* Review, verify, and process daily job cards in line with retail, distributor, and internal service department requirements.

* Ensure productive working hours are properly claimed against each repair type to reduce lost hours and improve workshop efficiency.

* Check that each job card follows distributor-recommended operational programs, correct procedures, and Kaizen standards.

* Review repair details to confirm that approved manufacturer repair time is claimed and processed accurately.

* Ensure correct repair codes are used and allocated on all job cards before final costing.

* Receive, process, and administer departmental job costing according to automotive retail and distributor guidelines.

* Escalate all non-costed repairs older than 72 hours to the Service Manager for timely action.

* Conduct weekly work-in-progress reviews to confirm that open job cards are being processed and costed.

* Return incomplete or unacceptable job cards to the relevant department with clear reasons for rejection.

* Coordinate with service, workshop, and administrative teams to resolve rejected job cards and documentation issues.

* Maintain accurate records, support claim accuracy, and help reduce delays in service costing workflows.

Ideal Profile

The ideal candidate should be an Emirati applicant with a Family Book, good communication skills, and a careful approach to administration, Excel work, job card review, and service documentation. The role requires accuracy, follow-up discipline, and the confidence to communicate with colleagues across the automotive service operation.

* Emirati candidate with Family Book is mandatory.

* High school diploma or basic qualification is required.

* Previous experience in administration, back-office support, automotive service administration, or job costing is strongly preferred.

* Proficiency in MS Office is required, especially MS Excel.

* Strong English communication skills are required.

* Arabic speaking skills are required for effective communication with clients and colleagues.

* Self-motivated and able to follow daily processing targets with limited supervision.
