The Service Supervisor will balance daily workshop productivity with customer commitments, warranty requirements, and safety standards. Effective planning and technical leadership will reduce repeat repairs, improve vehicle uptime, and strengthen the overall service experience.
Key Responsibilities
The role will supervise workshop execution while monitoring technician performance, repair quality, resource utilization, and customer requirements.
* Prepare the technical team for upcoming repair and maintenance assignments.
* Allocate job cards according to technician capability, urgency, and available workshop capacity.
* Monitor repair progress and adjust workloads to maximize throughput.
* Inspect completed work and confirm that required quality checks have been performed.
* Reduce repeat repairs, return jobs, and customer complaints through effective quality control.
* Assess technician competency and identify coaching or training requirements.
* Support the professional development of workshop team members.
* Ensure workshop tools and equipment remain functional, safe, and available.
* Review pre-order forms and verify parts requirements before work begins.
* Monitor warranty repairs for compliance with applicable guidelines and documentation procedures.
* Review workshop performance figures and prepare reports for management discussions.
* Monitor customer communication through Service Advisors and support timely updates.
* Optimize technician labor, workshop bays, equipment, and other resources.
* Coordinate round-the-clock service support and emergency breakdown assistance when required.
* Prioritize repairs affecting customer fleet and bus availability.
* Help meet contractual uptime requirements and prevent avoidable service penalties.
* Maintain safety, quality, housekeeping, and operational standards throughout the workshop.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should hold a diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field and be qualified as a Certified Automotive Technician.
At least five years of hands-on workshop repair and service-operations experience is required, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory position. Sound knowledge of vehicle diagnosis, commercial vehicle repairs, workshop planning, and technical software is essential.
Bus Key Technician certification from Volvo Bus Corporation would be advantageous. Applicants should communicate effectively in English, while Arabic language ability is preferred. A valid UAE passenger-bus driving license would provide an additional advantage.
