Role Context
The Used Cars Estimator - Vehicle Appraisal will help the Trading Enterprises CPOV team make better buying and pricing decisions by providing reliable inspection findings, accurate refurbishment estimates, and timely vehicle status updates. The role directly supports stock quality, customer confidence, preparation cost control, sales readiness, and smooth movement of purchased vehicles from appraisal to inventory.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect used vehicles and prepare accurate estimates based on body condition, mechanical condition, cosmetic condition, and overall market readiness.
* Assess vehicle data carefully and record all relevant attributes, defects, specifications, mileage, condition notes, and supporting information.
* Coordinate with pricing and purchasing teams to support suitable market value decisions for trade-ins and used vehicle acquisitions.
* Estimate refurbishment and preparation costs while helping maintain acceptable variance between projected and actual costs.
* Ensure ownership transfer, de-registration, and required vehicle documents are collected, checked, and processed correctly.
* Track purchased vehicles into stock and confirm they are parked, recorded, and assigned correctly according to the relevant sales channel.
* Follow up with Sales Executives on appraisal progress, trade-in status, vehicle movement, and pending requirements.
* Keep internal stakeholders informed about inspection results, cost estimates, delays, documentation gaps, and stock entry status.
* Support smooth coordination between purchasing, pricing, sales, administration, and operations teams.
* Maintain accurate vehicle-related records, inspection reports, estimation details, and system updates.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate should have practical automotive experience, good inspection judgment, and the ability to estimate repair or preparation costs accurately. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, emotional maturity, and the ability to manage multiple vehicle appraisals in a target-oriented environment.
* High school qualification or equivalent is required.
* Around 2 years of relevant experience in vehicle estimation, vehicle inspection, mechanical assessment, used car appraisal, or automotive operations.
* Experience in automotive buying, selling, franchise workshop, certified pre-owned vehicles, or used car operations is an advantage.
* Good understanding of vehicle body condition, mechanical checks, cosmetic repairs, and refurbishment requirements.
* Working knowledge of MS Office and vehicle-related systems.
* Good verbal and written English communication skills.
* Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
* Customer-focused mindset with a proactive and reliable approach to work.
* Ability to work within a multicultural team and support target-driven used vehicle operations.
