Role Context
The Workshop Supervisor - Bodyshop Repairs will oversee daily bodyshop operations for commercial vehicles, ensuring that repair jobs are planned, costed, assigned, inspected, and completed according to quality and safety standards. The role directly supports workshop profitability by improving technician productivity, reducing idle hours, minimizing repeat repairs, strengthening customer communication, and securing external accident repair business.
Key Responsibilities
* Allocate job cards to technicians based on skill level, job complexity, efficiency, and workshop priorities.
* Prepare the bodyshop team for upcoming repair work by reviewing job requirements, parts availability, and expected timelines.
* Review pre-order forms and parts requirements to ensure the correct components are available for accident and body repairs.
* Monitor repair progress and ensure technicians complete jobs according to approved procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations.
* Conduct or verify quality checks on completed repairs to reduce return jobs, customer complaints, and repeat work.
* Prepare repair quotations and coordinate with insurance surveyors for approvals on accident repair jobs.
* Support Service Advisors in maintaining clear customer communication on job status, repair timelines, approvals, and delivery updates.
* Review workshop performance figures including hours sold, hours worked, idle time, productivity, revenue, and gross margin.
* Prepare reports and updates for management discussions on workshop performance, repair output, and improvement actions.
* Improve technician competency through guidance, coaching, work allocation, and monitoring of repair quality.
* Ensure tools and equipment are available, safe, properly used, and functioning correctly for bodyshop operations.
* Support revenue growth by securing accident repair work from external vendors and strengthening Tier 2 business opportunities.
* Help achieve budgeted revenue and gross margin targets while identifying ways to improve cost control and profitability.
* Support emergency, breakdown, and urgent repair services when customer requirements demand fast workshop response.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate should have a strong commercial vehicle background, preferably with trucks and buses, along with practical bodyshop supervision experience. The role requires technical repair knowledge, insurance coordination ability, leadership skills, and the confidence to manage workshop performance in a busy automotive environment.
* Strong background in commercial vehicle repairs, especially trucks and buses.
* Experience in workshop supervision, bodyshop operations, accident repairs, or vehicle repair management.
* Technical understanding of vehicle diagnosis, body repair processes, and accident repair workflows.
* Strong customer and insurance network is an advantage.
* Experience coordinating with insurance surveyors and preparing repair quotations.
* Commercial understanding of cost control, workshop revenue, gross margin, and profitability.
* Multi-brand commercial vehicle workshop experience is preferred.
* Strong customer focus with the ability to manage relationships professionally.
* Excellent English communication skills are required.
* Arabic language skills are an advantage.
* Ability to lead technicians, adapt to operational demands, and work collaboratively with service teams.
