Key Responsibilities
* Support origination and execution of vanilla and structured finance transactions for Wholesale Banking clients.
* Work with senior Corporate Finance team members, relationship managers, GCF business lines, credit teams, and internal stakeholders on lending opportunities.
* Evaluate, structure, and execute deals in collaboration with relationship managers and credit risk teams.
* Assist with pitching, originating, structuring, and executing transactions across leveraged and acquisition finance, project finance, asset-backed finance, and real estate finance.
* Review existing loan portfolios and client plans to identify new lending opportunities.
* Analyze underlying businesses, transaction structures, repayment capacity, and risk considerations.
* Develop financing models where required, including sensitivity testing and scenario analysis.
* Prepare independent reports, transaction analysis, and due diligence inputs to support credit and business decisions.
* Assist in negotiating terms with borrowers and other lenders during initial discussions and definitive documentation stages.
* Provide accurate and timely inputs for internal reporting and strategic initiatives.
* Identify cross-selling opportunities across Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Agency, Securities Services, Global Markets, and Transaction Banking.
* Build strong internal relationships with coverage partners to maximize revenue and deepen FAB client relationships.
* Support the development and use of departmental policies, systems, and procedures.
* Ensure transactions and internal processes follow procedural, legislative, risk, and governance requirements.
* Deliver quality, cost-effective support while maintaining strong documentation and transaction discipline.
Ideal Profile
* Experience in corporate finance, wholesale banking, structured lending, credit, leveraged finance, project finance, real estate finance, or asset-backed finance is preferred.
* Strong understanding of corporate banking clients, lending products, financing structures, and credit risk considerations.
* Ability to support transaction origination, deal structuring, due diligence, documentation, and execution.
* Strong financial modelling skills, including sensitivity testing and business analysis.
* Good knowledge of vanilla lending, structured finance, acquisition finance, project finance, and real estate finance transactions.
* Ability to assess business performance, transaction risks, borrower requirements, and bank return expectations.
* Strong communication skills for working with borrowers, lenders, relationship managers, credit teams, and product partners.
* Detail-oriented approach to internal reporting, transaction documentation, credit materials, and financial analysis.
* Commercial mindset with the ability to identify cross-selling opportunities across capital markets and banking products.
* Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining accuracy, governance, and alignment with bank policies.
