Key Responsibilities
* Participate in and lead risk-based audits covering Enterprise Risk Management, Risk Management units, and Global Markets activities across FAB Group.
* Review areas including operational risk, fraud risk, credit risk, market risk, capital management, international locations, ICAAP, CAR, stress testing, RRP, risk appetite, and Pillar 1, Pillar 2, and Pillar 3 processes.
* Execute audits in line with the approved annual audit plan, objectives, terms of reference, and agreed work programs.
* Identify control weaknesses, governance gaps, risk issues, and significant audit findings, then escalate and report them in a timely manner.
* Assess whether business units have properly identified, classified, monitored, and managed risks within their activities.
* Evaluate governance, risk management, and control procedures to confirm they are adequate, effective, efficient, and aligned with bank standards.
* Review data and transaction processing standards relating to reliability, integrity, availability, and safeguarding of assets.
* Prepare and maintain risk assessments for ERM process streams within the audit universe.
* Establish, update, and maintain audit programs in the central audit management tool.
* Review audit worksheets and draft audit reports prepared by audit team members before finalization.
* Discuss audit outcomes with GIA management and business stakeholders, and agree documented management action plans.
* Follow up on pending audit issues and validate remediation evidence before closing observations in the bank’s tracking system.
* Prepare or review audit MIS, dashboards, and audit committee presentation materials for ERM-related audits.
* Act as an audit business partner for ERM line managers through regular meetings, risk discussions, and emerging risk identification.
* Provide governance, risk management, and internal control advice to unit management based on market best practices.
* Support audit universe development and contribute inputs to the annual risk-based internal audit plan.
* Share knowledge with junior colleagues, provide on-the-job guidance, and support team capability development.
* Conduct special reviews or investigations assigned by the Head of Audit or GCAO.
* Keep updated on local and international economic trends, banking practices, treasury products, market risk themes, and regulatory developments.
* Suggest process improvements, automation opportunities, cost efficiencies, control enhancements, and remediation improvements.
Ideal Profile
* Associate Chartered Accountant qualification and Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field.
* CFA, FRM, CIA, or Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or finance is preferred.
* 3-5 years post-qualification experience in internal audit, market risk, middle office, product control, or supervisory operations within an international or large regional bank.
* Strong understanding of treasury, trading, global markets, market risk, product control, ERM, capital management, and related control functions.
* Control function background is preferred.
* Good knowledge of risk-based audit methodology, internal controls, audit reporting, and remediation validation.
* Ability to assess governance, operational controls, risk frameworks, audit evidence, and management action plans.
* Strong analytical ability with critical thinking, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
* Professional English report writing skills with the ability to communicate issues clearly and accurately.
* Self-directed professional who can manage multiple audit tasks and work under pressure.
* Ability to build strong relationships with business stakeholders while maintaining independence and professional audit standards.
