Role Context
This position is responsible for delivering independent assurance across complex banking functions by identifying control weaknesses, improving governance standards, and supporting senior management with risk-based audit insights. The selected professional will lead audit assignments, influence business improvements, and maintain strong engagement with senior stakeholders across corporate and investment banking divisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and execute audits across Wholesale Banking, Investment Banking, Global Corporate Finance, Global Transaction Banking, and Credit functions
* Lead audit coverage of business activities, operational processes, and credit management across FAB Group
* Assess governance, risk management, and internal control effectiveness across GCF, GTB, WB, IB, and related credit functions
* Review product structures, relationship management processes, and credit risk frameworks in line with global banking standards
* Identify control weaknesses, audit findings, and operational risks and report them to senior management in a timely manner
* Escalate significant audit observations and support agreement of management action plans for issue resolution
* Act as the day-to-day audit contact for management across GCF, GTB, WB, IB Coverage, and Credit Departments
* Influence positive change by providing advisory support on governance, risk, and control improvements
* Support Head of Audit and GCAO with audit insights that impact the wider FAB Group
* Conduct special investigations, reviews, and additional assignments as required by senior audit leadership
* Maintain audit documentation, reporting quality, and compliance with internal audit methodology and regulatory expectations
* Use data analysis and audit tools to improve audit efficiency and strengthen audit coverage where applicable
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, or related discipline
* Strong experience in internal audit, corporate banking, investment banking, or credit risk functions
* Deep understanding of Wholesale Banking, Investment Banking, GCF, GTB products, and credit risk management processes
* Good knowledge of governance frameworks, internal controls, and regulatory compliance standards
* Experience leading audits and managing senior stakeholder relationships across banking functions
* Strong analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail and structured problem-solving
* Knowledge of data query tools and audit analytics is an added advantage
* Excellent communication and leadership skills with ability to influence management decisions
