Job Overview
As the AVP – Islamic Products, you will support the Head of Islamic Products in managing and expanding the bank’s Islamic banking product suite. The role involves product development, Shariah compliance, internal stakeholder coordination, and international support to ensure FAB maintains leadership in Islamic financial services across diverse markets.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full ownership of Islamic GTB product proposition, covering both assets and liabilities
* Develop, enhance, and implement Shariah-compliant banking products based on market demand and competitive analysis
* Liaise with Shariah Control, Legal, Compliance, IT, and Operations to ensure smooth product development and deployment
* Conduct training sessions and workshops on Islamic banking principles and product usage across the organization
* Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), internal MIS, and strategic presentations for senior management
* Act as primary contact for Islamic product queries across the bank and support international branches
* Collaborate on new product testing, system integrations, and operational workflows
* Manage Islamic product performance, including profitability analysis and customer satisfaction metrics
* Ensure product offerings comply with AAOIFI standards and CBUAE Higher Shariah Authority (HSA) guidelines
* Conduct joint client meetings with business teams for complex Islamic product structuring
* Address all audit, compliance, or regulatory queries related to Islamic banking initiatives
* Continuously monitor industry developments to maintain FAB’s leadership in Islamic finance
Required Skills and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Islamic Finance, or related field
* Minimum 5 years of experience in an Islamic bank or Islamic window of a conventional bank
* Strong knowledge of Shariah principles, Islamic financial contracts, and AAOIFI standards
* Familiarity with CBUAE HSA regulations and Islamic product documentation processes
* Demonstrated experience managing a broad suite of Shariah-compliant products
* Strong financial analysis, accounting, and project management skills
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines across global operations
