Key Responsibilities
* Act as a finance business partner for Islamic Banking and provide commercial finance insights to senior business stakeholders.
* Support business heads with strategic planning, financial performance management, budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making.
* Lead or support regular business performance reviews with clear commentary on financial trends, opportunities, and areas of concern.
* Prepare monthly management reporting packs covering revenue, costs, balance sheet lines, AUM balances, margins, and key ratios.
* Support the annual budget cycle and monitor actual financial performance against approved plans.
* Work with Group FP and A to maintain accurate product and line-of-business data for upstream reporting integrity.
* Assess financial performance across business divisions and ensure transparency in management information.
* Ensure financial disclosures and reporting practices meet regulatory, accounting, governance, and internal control standards.
* Support financial control, risk management, internal audit, and external audit requirements for Islamic Banking.
* Follow up on audit findings and help implement recommendations within agreed timelines.
* Review Islamic Banking financial performance and provide objective, value-added business commentary.
* Support Group Finance on Islamic Banking matters related to regulatory reporting, treasury, tax, financial analysis, and financial control.
* Advise business teams on new and existing products, processes, and arrangements related to financial and regulatory reporting compliance.
* Identify financial risks within Islamic Banking and coordinate with stakeholders to develop mitigation plans.
* Work with Group Treasury on FTP, balance sheet, capital, liquidity, and pricing matters affecting the business.
* Review budgets for strategic projects and change initiatives across Islamic Banking and NHL.
* Prepare rolling forecasts with business and product heads in UAE and relevant international locations.
* Develop customer-wise profitability and margin analysis by segment and product.
* Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis to support better business performance and management decisions.
* Mentor junior team members and contribute to their learning, development, and finance capability.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, or a closely related discipline.
* Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CA is preferred.
* Around 10 years of experience in FP and A, business finance, financial control, or performance management within the banking industry.
* Strong understanding of Islamic Banking business models, banking finance processes, and financial reporting requirements.
* Good knowledge of international accounting standards including IFRS and IAS.
* Ability to translate financial data into practical business insights for senior stakeholders.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
* Confident written and verbal communication skills for reporting, presentations, and senior management discussions.
* Ability to support budgeting, forecasting, MI reporting, customer profitability analysis, and strategic business reviews.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate across Group Finance, business teams, treasury, tax, audit, and technology partners.
