Role Context
The Continuous Monitoring Manager - Audit Analytics will be part of the Continuous Monitoring team within FAB Group Internal Audit. The role supports ongoing assurance by using advanced analytics, automation, system integration, dashboards, and control performance metrics to monitor critical risk areas across the bank.
This position helps strengthen the Internal Audit function by enabling early identification of transactional anomalies, control gaps, emerging risks, and areas requiring escalation or audit plan recalibration. The successful candidate will work closely with Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, business units, credit teams, IB, WB, and technology stakeholders to support dynamic risk management and real-time governance.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute continuous monitoring strategies aligned with the bank’s risk profile, audit plan, and regulatory expectations.
* Use Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques and data analysis technologies to improve audit coverage, efficiency, and control testing depth.
* Design, build, and maintain dashboards for real-time visibility of key risk indicators, control performance, and audit-relevant metrics.
* Configure automated alerts to identify control failures, transactional anomalies, emerging risks, and unusual operational activity.
* Analyze structured and unstructured data sources, including system logs, incidents, IT configurations, transaction data, and operational records.
* Perform ongoing testing of key controls and risk indicators using automated tools and data analytics.
* Monitor high-risk areas such as credit risk, AML/CFT, cybersecurity, market operations, and operational resilience.
* Support timely escalation of control failures, risk trends, exceptions, and significant audit observations.
* Contribute insights to senior management and Board-level dashboards where required.
* Execute tasks in line with GIA policies, guidance notes, procedures, practice notes, quality standards, and regulatory expectations.
* Review activities within IB, WB, credit portfolios, related subsidiaries, and applicable jurisdictions to help define and maintain the audit universe.
* Prepare and maintain risk assessments for process streams within IB, WB, credit, and related portfolio areas.
* Work with business teams to promote periodic self-assessment of risks and controls.
* Establish, update, and maintain audit programs in the central audit management tool.
* Follow up pending audit issues with unit management and ensure corrective actions are fully and properly implemented.
* Provide governance, risk management, and control advisory input to unit management based on market best practices.
* Act as an Audit Business Partner for line managers within IB, WB, and credit teams through regular meetings and emerging risk discussions.
* Review IB, WB, and credit functions end to end to identify areas requiring correction, improvement, automation, or stronger controls.
* Examine early problem recognition processes and comment on remedial management actions to reduce potential losses.
* Maintain current knowledge of IB, WB, credit control processes, relationship management, credit underwriting, credit risk management, and CBUAE regulatory reporting developments.
* Provide guidance, on-the-job training, and knowledge sharing to junior colleagues.
* Promote the bank’s values, ethics, and value-driven culture within team activities.
* Monitor financial performance of assigned activities against approved budgets and report variances to management.
* Lead continuous improvement of audit processes, monitoring practices, dashboards, and assurance methods.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders while promptly addressing critical issues.
* Conduct investigations or special reviews assigned by the Head of Audit or GCAO.
* Ensure functional reports are prepared accurately, on time, and in line with group requirements.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, STEM, or a related discipline.
* Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, CPA, ACCA, FRM, CFA, or data analytics certifications will be an advantage.
* Relevant experience in internal audit, continuous monitoring, audit analytics, credit risk, operational risk, compliance assurance, technology audit, or banking control functions.
* Strong understanding of audit methodology, risk-based auditing, control testing, audit universe management, and remediation follow-up.
* Practical experience using CAATs, analytics platforms, dashboards, automated alerts, and data interrogation techniques.
* Good knowledge of banking risk areas such as credit risk, AML/CFT, cybersecurity, market operations, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance.
* Familiarity with IB, WB, credit process controls, relationship management, credit underwriting, and credit risk management is valuable.
* Ability to analyze structured and unstructured data to identify anomalies, control gaps, trends, and emerging risks.
* Strong report writing skills with the ability to prepare clear audit summaries, dashboards, MIS, and management updates.
* Able to communicate effectively with audit teams, business leaders, risk stakeholders, compliance teams, and technology partners.
* Self-directed, analytical, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
* Comfortable supporting junior colleagues through coaching, knowledge sharing, and practical audit guidance.
