Legal Collections Officer – Abu Dhabi, UAE
Position Overview
First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is hiring a Legal Collections Officer to manage and oversee legal cases related to collections, cheque execution, civil disputes, and cases against the bank. The role involves close coordination with law firms, internal collections teams, and recovery units to minimize losses, maximize recoveries, and ensure compliance with regulatory and bank policies.

What You’ll Do
* Handle assigned legal cases including cheque execution, repossession, civil disputes, and claims against the bank
* Liaise with external law firms to file cases, follow up on progress, and provide required documentation within agreed turnaround times
* Coordinate with collection teams on in-court settlements and legal actions to support recovery efforts
* Attend expert meetings and review legal memos, ensuring accurate updates are provided to stakeholders
* Monitor vendor (law firm) performance, particularly for Abu Dhabi cases, to ensure compliance with service standards
* Update systems, trackers, and legal flags for all allocated cases in a timely manner
* Retrieve and manage original case files according to policies and procedures
* Handle escalations and requests related to collections and provide legal advisory support to recovery teams
* Ensure compliance with bank policies, central bank regulations, and mandatory training requirements
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or related discipline
* Minimum 5 years of experience in banking, with strong exposure to collections and legal processes
* Solid knowledge of UAE legal frameworks related to collections, repossessions, and litigation
* Strong vendor management skills with experience coordinating external law firms
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to manage multiple cases under pressure and deliver results within deadlines
