Key Responsibilities
* Install, configure, manage, and maintain Oracle RAC and ASM environments on Unix-like platforms, preferably AIX and Linux.
* Administer Oracle databases across production and non-production environments to support continuous 24x7 business application availability.
* Patch Oracle infrastructure in production RAC, clustered database, and Data Guard disaster recovery environments.
* Implement and maintain Oracle Transparent Data Encryption in highly critical and always-available database environments.
* Manage database technology and infrastructure in line with architecture standards, operational policies, and security guidelines.
* Support high availability and disaster recovery through Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate across local and data center environments.
* Participate in database maintenance, DR drills, failover support, recovery testing, and on-call rotation.
* Write and maintain operating system-level scripts for database automation, monitoring, and application maintenance.
* Provide hands-on support for database consolidation, platform migration, hardware transition, and infrastructure modernization projects.
* Implement database storage structures, replication models, high-availability solutions, and disaster recovery designs.
* Perform proactive and reactive performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and resolution of Level 2 and Level 3 database issues.
* Conduct regular database capacity planning, growth analysis, utilization monitoring, and predictive resource forecasting.
* Prepare structured reports on capacity trends, performance risks, system utilization, and future database resource requirements.
* Work with infrastructure engineering, product development, business operations, and technical operations teams to meet database SLAs and performance targets.
* Translate business requirements into database specifications, data models, tables, attributes, and technical designs.
* Support evaluation, selection, and implementation of DBA tools for monitoring, tuning, recovery, automation, and database change management.
* Lead or support technical DBA teams in delivering complex database projects and production improvements.
* Maintain database security controls, access practices, backup readiness, and operational stability.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
* Oracle Certified Professional certification is preferred.
* More than 9 years of experience working with Oracle databases, ideally within a financial institution or highly regulated enterprise environment.
* Mid-level to senior DBA experience managing Oracle databases from version 11g onward.
* Strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and clustered database maintenance.
* Strong Oracle ASM configuration, administration, and maintenance skills.
* Practical experience with Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate for high availability, disaster recovery, and complex replication topology.
* Strong understanding of Oracle database fundamentals, Oracle database security, backup, recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
* Experience implementing Oracle Transparent Data Encryption in critical production environments.
* Strong Unix platform skills with good understanding of network, storage, tiered application architecture, and security.
* Proficiency in PL-SQL procedures, functions, and packages for administration and application support.
* Strong knowledge of shell scripting, with Perl or Python scripting experience considered an advantage.
* Ability to troubleshoot complex database, infrastructure, replication, and system performance issues.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a technical team.
* Ability to understand business and customer needs in a complex organization and deliver practical database solutions.
