Regional Head - GCC Investment and Wholesale Banking DubaiPosition Overview
First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is seeking a visionary Regional Head for the GCC to lead Investment Banking & Markets (IB&M) and Wholesale Banking operations across key regional markets. This senior leadership role will oversee business strategy, regulatory compliance, client management, and regional team leadership in Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, KSA, and Iraq. The ideal candidate will possess deep industry expertise, regulatory insight, and the ability to shape and scale a cross-border banking operation.

What You’ll Do
* Define and implement FAB’s GCC-wide strategy across Investment Banking, Global Markets, and Transaction Banking
* Transition existing business models to improve geographic coverage, client diversification, and
product penetration
* Drive collaboration with global teams to enhance returns through network business and trade corridors
* Provide executive oversight for FAB operations in Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, KSA (FAB Capital), and Iraq
* Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain ongoing relationships with regional regulators
* Manage performance across GCC offices, including budget formulation, KPI monitoring, and strategic reporting
* Lead client engagement at a senior level, expanding market share and enhancing wallet penetration
* Embed effective CRM practices for account planning, pipeline visibility, and strategic sales growth
* Oversee credit risk, portfolio performance, and asset/liability growth strategies in line with group policies
* Direct organizational structure optimization, ensuring efficient operations across multiple jurisdictions
* Lead large-scale transformation and change initiatives across the region in line with FAB’s evolving model
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree with 20+ years of banking experience, including 10+ years in a senior executive role
* Proven expertise in Investment and Wholesale Banking, particularly trade finance and debt markets
* Demonstrated experience operating within an international, matrix-based bank structure
* Deep knowledge of the GCC regulatory and financial landscape
* Strategic thinker with excellent leadership, people management, and change management capabilities
* Experience building and mentoring multicultural teams across regional offices
* Fluency in Arabic is required; preference given to UAE National candidates
