Role Context
The Relationship Manager - Corporate Accounts will manage an assigned portfolio of large corporate banking clients and support the growth of profitable long-term relationships. The role requires strong client coverage, internal coordination, credit awareness, and service ownership to ensure business objectives and revenue targets are consistently achieved.
This position involves frequent collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, including local and international clients. The successful candidate will be expected to manage time-sensitive submissions, coordinate approvals quickly, handle meetings across different time zones, and drive internal processes with urgency while maintaining quality, governance, and portfolio discipline.
What You’ll Do
* Manage and grow assigned large account portfolios within the corporate banking segment.
* Build strong client relationships and maintain regular engagement with key corporate decision-makers.
* Support revenue growth by identifying client needs, cross-selling suitable banking solutions, and deepening account relationships.
* Improve service quality by ensuring client requests, queries, and operational needs are handled efficiently.
* Supervise subordinates’ daily activities, client interactions, and follow-up actions to ensure performance objectives are met.
* Monitor client satisfaction and take action to resolve service gaps, delays, or process bottlenecks.
* Maintain portfolio credit quality by keeping close oversight of client activity, risk indicators, documentation, and internal follow-ups.
* Coordinate with credit, risk, compliance, operations, product, legal, and service teams to support client requirements.
* Drive internal approval processes and ensure required submissions are prepared and escalated within short turnaround times.
* Support local and international client outreach, including meetings scheduled across different time zones.
* Prepare and coordinate deadline-driven submissions for facilities, portfolio reviews, client requirements, and internal approvals.
* Maintain accurate communication with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure expectations are clearly managed.
* Review client interactions and portfolio activity to identify opportunities for improved business performance.
* Guide junior team members or support staff to ensure consistent service standards and accurate client handling.
* Work within bank policies, credit standards, operational procedures, and governance requirements.
Ideal Profile
* University degree in Banking, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
* Relevant experience in corporate banking, relationship management, large account handling, or portfolio management.
* Strong understanding of corporate banking products, client relationship management, credit quality, and revenue generation.
* Experience managing large corporate clients or complex account portfolios will be an advantage.
* Ability to coordinate efficiently with credit, risk, compliance, operations, product, and service teams.
* Strong client-facing skills with the confidence to engage senior corporate stakeholders.
* Commercially focused, proactive, and able to identify opportunities for portfolio growth.
* Good understanding of credit discipline, documentation follow-up, internal approvals, and service delivery standards.
* Able to supervise day-to-day client support activities and guide subordinate performance.
* Comfortable working under tight timelines, managing urgent submissions, and supporting international client communication.
* Highly organized, energetic, and able to drive business and internal processes with accountability.
