Role Context
This position is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of corporate and commercial banking clients while ensuring strong financial performance, portfolio quality, and customer satisfaction. The selected professional will handle lending structures, trade working capital solutions, credit applications, and cross-selling opportunities while maintaining strong compliance and risk management standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Increase the depth and breadth of relationships with existing customers and acquire quality new borrowing relationships
* Develop and manage corporate and commercial financing portfolios across assigned business segments
* Drive increased sales volumes, market share growth, and utilization of approved client limits
* Source new business from prospects and expand borrowing relationships through suppliers and buyers within existing client networks
* Provide customers with timely and accurate information on banking products and financing solutions
* Plan regular visits to existing and prospective clients in coordination with GTB and FX teams
* Identify and forward sales leads to other divisions for cross-selling opportunities
* Align lending structures and pricing with customer needs while maintaining business banking standards
* Prepare credit applications, analyze financial statements, and support approval processes efficiently
* Ensure credit applications for new and existing clients are prepared in compliance with bank policies and regulatory frameworks
* Review credit analysis and provide strong qualitative recommendations for lending decisions
* Recognize early warning signs of unsatisfactory account conduct and support collection of overdue loans
* Assess financial and business risks by reviewing company performance, management quality, strategy, and industry position
* Identify risks that may impact assets, earnings capacity, or overall business sustainability
* Proactively manage portfolio risk by ensuring timely renewal of accounts and proper documentation
* Discuss credit packages with credit teams and approving authorities where required
* Maintain strong working relationships with Credit Division and Credit Administration teams
* Monitor FX and Trade Working Capital revenues, utilization reports, and profitability metrics
* Continuously improve revenue margins and maximize effective use of approved limits
* Ensure high customer service standards through coordination with service groups and processing units
* Maintain compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, AML regulations, and business banking frameworks
* Support internal audit and risk management reviews while addressing gaps and audit findings promptly
Ideal Profile
* University degree in Finance, Business, Banking, Economics, or related discipline
* MBA, PGDM, CA, CFA, or similar professional certification is preferred
* Minimum 5 to 8 years of banking experience with at least 4 years in similar business banking or relationship management roles
* Strong experience in Trade Working Capital is mandatory
* Experience in Real Estate Financing is highly valuable
* Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, lending due diligence, and credit risk assessment
* Strong knowledge of Trade Finance, SME Banking, and related regulatory frameworks
* Good understanding of legal business structures and corporate financing requirements
* Strong commercial acumen with proven success in achieving or exceeding sales targets
* Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills
* Strong analytical thinking with ability to provide practical business recommendations
