Role Context
The Sales Officer - Banking Acquisition will contribute to customer growth by identifying new prospects, engaging existing clients, and converting suitable opportunities into quality banking relationships. This role requires consistent sales activity, accurate customer case analysis, strong product knowledge, and careful follow-up after field visits. The position also plays an important part in protecting the bank from onboarding, compliance, and mis-selling risks by ensuring customers receive clear product information and applications are handled in line with required processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets as assigned under the business plan.
* Drive New To Bank customer acquisition through market penetration, field sales activity, referrals, and direct customer engagement.
* Solicit existing clients to identify suitable cross-sell opportunities and increase revenue per customer.
* Promote FAB products and services in line with customer needs, eligibility, and approved sales guidelines.
* Complete proper customer case analysis after each field visit and provide all required customer information for internal review.
* Maintain daily sales reports and submit performance updates to the team leader and manager as required.
* Develop strong knowledge of all assigned products, policies, processes, onboarding requirements, and compliance expectations.
* Deliver a smooth and professional client onboarding experience by explaining requirements clearly and following up on pending items.
* Ensure customers are not mis-sold products by offering solutions transparently and based on their stated requirements.
* Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve or escalate redress matters for timely closure.
* Participate actively in assigned learning, development, and training programs to improve sales performance and banking knowledge.
* Take responsibility for personal development through active enrolment and participation in required training activities.
* Maintain awareness of competitor offerings and provide suggestions to the line manager for product or process improvements.
* Follow all KYC, compliance, internal control, customer documentation, and onboarding procedures required by the bank.
* Support revenue objectives by maintaining consistent sales discipline and focusing on quality customer acquisition.
* Coordinate with internal teams when customer cases require clarification, review, approval, or additional support.
* Protect customer trust by sharing accurate product information and maintaining professional conduct during all interactions.
* Work within approved policies, sales standards, and ethical banking practices while supporting business growth.
Ideal Profile
* Experience in banking sales, client acquisition, retail banking, business banking, or financial services sales is preferred.
* Good understanding of banking products, sales processes, customer onboarding, KYC requirements, and compliance policies.
* Ability to achieve monthly and annual sales KPIs through disciplined prospecting, follow-up, and customer engagement.
* Strong New To Bank acquisition ability with confidence in field-based sales and customer conversations.
* Commercially aware approach with the ability to identify cross-sell opportunities from existing and new client relationships.
* Customer-focused mindset with the ability to provide clear guidance and a quality onboarding experience.
* Good communication skills with the ability to explain product features, requirements, and next steps transparently.
