Role Context
The Solution Architect will own architecture governance for enterprise content and document lifecycle platforms, ensuring solutions align with Enterprise Architecture principles, bank security standards, regulatory obligations, and operational resilience expectations. The role will help define target-state architectures, modernize legacy platforms, govern integration patterns, and support scalable technology delivery across complex banking environments.
This position requires close collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, security, infrastructure, application teams, vendors, business stakeholders, and technology governance forums. The successful candidate will support build-to-run accountability, guide strategic programs such as DMS upgrades and archival modernization, and ensure architecture decisions are compliant, practical, secure, and aligned with long-term enterprise direction.
Key Responsibilities
* Own solution architecture governance and ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture principles.
* Define and maintain target-state architectures for content lifecycle platforms and enterprise document systems.
* Ensure technology services are secure, compliant, scalable, and aligned with the bank’s enterprise guidelines.
* Drive modernization, platform innovation, and architecture improvement across assigned enterprise systems.
* Govern API, metadata, eventing, and integration standards across related platforms and services.
* Lead architecture support for strategic programs, including DMS upgrades, archival modernization, capture automation, and regional disaster recovery.
* Ensure solution designs comply with UAECB, TDRA, SAMA, PDPL, GDPR, and applicable data privacy requirements.
* Follow FAB security, IT, ITSM, Agile, DevOps, Enterprise Architecture, and technology governance standards.
* Align major architectural decisions with the required governance forums and support teams in obtaining approvals.
* Govern vendor technology evaluations and ensure selected solutions meet enterprise architecture, security, scalability, and compliance expectations.
* Ensure adherence to data governance, privacy standards, information classification, and secure integration principles.
* Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture teams to validate solution direction, platform dependencies, and target-state alignment.
* Support build-to-run accountability by ensuring architecture choices are practical for operations, support, resilience, and service continuity.
* Define clear and measurable KPIs for team members and overall architecture delivery performance.
* Monitor team performance through structured reviews, data-driven insights, and measurable delivery outcomes.
* Identify capability gaps, provide coaching, and support performance improvement plans and continuous learning.
* Communicate architecture decisions, risks, dependencies, and technical direction clearly to business and technology stakeholders.
* Support operational efficiency by improving architecture governance, platform standardization, and solution reuse.
* Adhere to FAB health and safety policies and procedures as required by the Group.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
* 12+ years of experience designing scalable, secure, and compliant architectures across enterprise systems.
* 10+ years of experience working with business leaders, enterprise architects, vendors, and technical teams to align technology solutions with strategic goals.
* 10+ years of strong knowledge in software development lifecycle, IT service operations, and delivery governance in complex enterprise environments.
* Minimum 2 years of practical experience designing cloud-native solutions using AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
* Strong background in enterprise architecture, solution design, integration architecture, content platforms, document management, or archival systems.
* Good understanding of APIs, metadata models, event-driven integration, data governance, privacy controls, and secure architecture principles.
* Experience with regulated banking or financial services technology environments will be highly valuable.
* Strong awareness of security governance, audit controls, regulatory compliance, disaster recovery, and operational resilience.
* Ability to assess vendor solutions, review technical proposals, and guide architecture decisions based on enterprise standards.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence business, technology, security, operations, and governance teams.
* Able to coach technical teams, define KPIs, monitor performance, and support continuous improvement.
* Clear communication style with the ability to explain complex architecture decisions in practical business and technology language.
