Role Context

The Technology Lead - Cards and Loyalty will provide strategic and operational leadership for technology teams supporting the Cards and Loyalty domain. The role is responsible for shaping the technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with reference architecture, supporting Islamic product development, and delivering secure, scalable, and compliant customer-facing solutions.

This position requires close collaboration with product, operations, compliance, enterprise architecture, security, infrastructure, vendors, and other IT domains. The successful candidate will lead modernization initiatives, manage delivery priorities, oversee budgets and service levels, and ensure technology execution supports customer experience, regulatory expectations, risk management, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

* Define and execute the technology roadmap for Cards and Loyalty in alignment with business strategy and reference architecture.
* Lead the design, development, and deployment of Islamic banking products within the Cards and Loyalty domain.
* Collaborate with product, operations, compliance, and technology stakeholders to deliver seamless and compliant customer journeys.
* Provide leadership and direction to technology teams supporting cards, loyalty platforms, product delivery, and related digital services.
* Oversee modernization of legacy systems and support migration toward cloud-native architectures where applicable.
* Ensure technology solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with internal architecture and governance standards.
* Monitor and manage technology budgets, vendor contracts, service levels, and delivery commitments.
* Track vendor performance, support contract governance, and ensure service level agreements are properly monitored.
* Maintain strong IT governance and ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, audit expectations, and risk requirements.
* Track and report key scorecard indicators, including KPIs, audit items, risk items, delivery progress, and service performance.
* Foster collaboration with enterprise architecture, security, infrastructure, operations, product teams, and other IT domains.
* Champion innovation, agility, continuous improvement, and practical digital transformation within the technology function.
* Drive improvements in customer experience, system performance, operational efficiency, and platform reliability.
* Support prioritization of technology initiatives based on business value, customer impact, compliance needs, and delivery feasibility.
* Identify delivery risks, budget concerns, system constraints, and vendor issues early, then coordinate timely resolution.
* Guide teams through planning, execution, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous enhancement activities.
* Ensure cards and loyalty technology initiatives support business growth, product competitiveness, customer engagement, and regulatory compliance.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Business Technology, or a related discipline.
* 12+ years of overall technology experience.
* 8+ years of experience in the Cards domain.
* Strong background in cards platforms, loyalty systems, digital banking products, customer journey delivery, and technology roadmap execution.
* Experience leading technology teams supporting cards, loyalty, payment products, Islamic banking products, or related financial services platforms.
* Good understanding of reference architecture, enterprise technology governance, IT risk, compliance, audit requirements, and service management.
* Experience with legacy system modernization and cloud-native architecture migration will be valuable.
* Ability to work closely with product, operations, compliance, security, infrastructure, enterprise architecture, and vendor teams.
* Strong vendor management capability, including contract oversight, SLA monitoring, performance tracking, and issue escalation.
* Proven ability to manage technology budgets, delivery priorities, scorecards, KPIs, audit items, and risk-related actions.
* Strong leadership style with the ability to guide teams, encourage innovation, and improve delivery maturity.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and translate business needs into technology direction.
* Proactive, organized, delivery-focused, and comfortable working in a regulated banking environment.
