Role Context
The Technology Service Lead will own and manage key business initiatives, product roadmap delivery, service strategy, and end-to-end technology execution for commercial banking and digital channels. The role requires strong functional and technical understanding of banking platforms, cloud services, application delivery, agile practices, vendor management, and technology governance.
This position acts as a bridge between business leadership, technology teams, product owners, service owners, vendors, and delivery partners. The successful candidate will guide service line teams, manage dependencies, monitor KPIs and OKRs, oversee demand and release milestones, and ensure technology solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and manage business initiatives, product roadmaps, and end-to-end delivery across assigned banking technology services.
* Ensure projects, programs, and service deliveries are executed within agreed timelines, budgets, scope, and quality expectations.
* Represent Technology in business discussions, vendor engagements, service reviews, and strategic planning forums.
* Provide strategic guidance and manage teams, resources, priorities, and service line execution.
* Apply expert functional and technical knowledge of commercial banking, business banking, and digital channels.
* Lead service teams by hiring, empowering, supporting, coaching, and developing talent to work effectively.
* Track organization-level and technology KPIs to ensure performance targets are achieved.
* Manage Capex, OpenX, and technology budget planning for assigned initiatives and service areas.
* Provide service strategy input, shape the service catalogue, and maintain a clear value proposition with business stakeholders.
* Oversee demand management, release milestones, cross-service dependencies, and coordinated delivery activities.
* Lead agile and DevOps ways of working while shaping the right culture, mindset, maturity, and delivery discipline.
* Create autonomous teams by applying servant leadership principles and delegating effectively.
* Define priorities, KPIs, and OKRs that support the charter and vision set by senior management.
* Work with product owners, service owners, and portfolio leads to align projects and programs with strategic objectives.
* Support product owners in backlog refinement so requirements are clear, estimable, and deliverable by technology teams.
* Guide testers on business requirements, product objectives, and quality expectations.
* Monitor project progress, report delivery status, identify risks early, and support timely issue resolution.
* Coordinate activities between business users, IT teams, technical support teams, vendors, and external partners.
* Provide advisory support to business teams for process improvements, product enhancements, system changes, and digital transformation initiatives.
* Develop proposals and technology solutions to resolve business problems and enable new capabilities.
* Lead vendor evaluation, partner management, and review of statements of work.
* Manage one or more business programs and projects while advocating business priorities in IT funding, resourcing, and prioritization discussions.
* Apply strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and iterative delivery models.
* Drive innovative and impactful system solutions that improve business performance and customer experience.
* Ensure technical application security, compliance, audit, and governance requirements are considered in delivery planning.
* Work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to build alignment, influence decisions, and move teams toward a common vision.
* Plan ahead of delivery teams, surface hidden risks, and ensure business requirements are delivered to support customer satisfaction.
* Carry out assignments independently or as part of a team using strong banking, technology, delivery, and leadership experience.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering or an equivalent technology-related degree.
* 15+ years of experience managing business banking, commercial banking, and digital channels domains.
* Strong banking background with domain experience across finance, digital platforms, business banking, or commercial banking systems.
* Certification in Agile or Scrum is required.
* Certification in ITIL or a similar service management framework is required.
* Expert-level industry or vendor certifications are preferred.
* Deep experience in technology development, solution design, cloud platforms, enterprise architecture, and modern delivery practices.
* Hands-on familiarity with Azure, AWS, microservices, CI/CD, authorization, authentication, identity providers, and digital platform services.
* Strong knowledge of software engineering methodologies, including SDLC, Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and iterative development.
* Proven ability to lead technology programs, coach assigned projects, and resolve delivery challenges to keep teams on track.
* Experience in digital transformation, process automation, digitization, and enabling business outcomes through technology.
* Strong experience in vendor and partner management, including SOW evaluation and external delivery coordination.
* Ability to work with senior leadership, business stakeholders, product owners, service owners, portfolio leads, and technical teams.
* Strong analytical ability with proven experience enabling data-based decision making.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to influence others, build strong relationships, and operate effectively in ambiguous situations.
