Technical Manager - Broadcast Engineering & Project Operations

Responsibilities:

General:
- Train and mentor engineers on handling and operating all broadcast equipment in collaboration with the Head of Engineering.
- Support technical operations to ensure the smooth execution of daily engineering tasks.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for site surveys and production integration layout plans, ensuring continuous process improvement.
- Design and implement standardized rack layouts, including serial numbering and panel placements.
- Assist in testing and improving system designs, ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Standardize racks and kit configurations to enhance operational consistency.
- Establish and maintain a structured process for equipment testing, preparation, and problem escalation across all projects.
- Research new technologies and industry developments, providing technical support and recommendations for service improvements.
- Design project templates to streamline task management and execution.

Before Project:
- Review technical specifications of equipment and crew requirements for sales quotations.
- Participate in client and contractor meetings, as well as site reconnaissance when required.
- Address and resolve client technical queries before project commencement.
- Expand equipment lists from sales quotations to detailed, project-specific inventory requirements.
- Prepare engineering documentation, including router/switcher I/O assignments, distribution layouts, and technical integration plans.
- Develop a structured timeline for project preparation, adjusting for resource availability, shipping schedules, and scope changes.
- Coordinate with Equipment Planners, Warehouse, and Engineering teams to ensure project readiness.
- Verify and approve equipment packing lists for accuracy and completeness.

During Project:
- Provide real-time technical support by monitoring project-related communications and responding to support inquiries.

After Project:
- Conduct post-project evaluations to analyze technical performance and document areas for improvement in future projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in broadcast engineering or technical project management.
- Expertise in broadcast equipment, including audio and vision mixers, cameras, lenses, and radio communication systems.
- Proven experience in technical training and knowledge transfer.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop multiple viable solutions.
- Physical capability to perform technical tasks as required by the role.
- Willingness to travel for regional and international projects.
