Role Context
The Medicine Quality Assurance Lead will oversee the reliability of medical content used to train and evaluate advanced artificial intelligence systems. Assignments may include reviewing clinical explanations, case analyses, differential diagnoses, medication-related responses, diagnostic discussions, treatment summaries, patient education materials, and health-related model outputs.
The successful candidate will identify unsafe recommendations, hallucinated facts, missing caveats, weak clinical reasoning, incorrect terminology, inappropriate certainty, and content that could be misunderstood as personalized medical advice. The role also includes guiding contributors, maintaining quality documentation, supporting onboarding, and improving scalable medical review processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Review medical AI training items against detailed project rubrics and clinical quality requirements.
* Evaluate medical accuracy, clinical reasoning, terminology, clarity, risk awareness, formatting, and instruction compliance.
* Assess differential diagnoses, case interpretations, diagnostic pathways, and treatment summaries for clinical soundness.
* Review AI-generated explanations involving pathophysiology, pharmacology, laboratory findings, imaging, and healthcare communication.
* Check whether conclusions are supported by the available symptoms, history, findings, and stated evidence.
* Identify hallucinated facts, unsupported claims, incorrect medical terminology, and misleading explanations.
* Flag overconfident diagnoses, treatment recommendations, medication instructions, and personalized medical advice.
* Evaluate whether appropriate caveats, escalation guidance, and patient-safety warnings are included.
* Review medication-related content for contraindications, interactions, dosing concerns, and misuse risks where relevant.
* Assess whether emergency symptoms and red-flag conditions are recognized and handled cautiously.
* Verify that patient-facing responses are clear, respectful, understandable, and appropriately limited.
* Review the use of clinical guidelines, diagnostic criteria, evidence summaries, and medical references.
* Spot-check submissions completed by clinicians, trainers, annotators, medical writers, reviewers, and QA contributors.
* Provide precise written feedback explaining each clinical issue and the required correction.
* Escalate recurring, critical, or patient-safety-related quality concerns to project stakeholders.
* Communicate updated guidelines, workflow changes, and medical review standards through Discord and other collaboration tools.
* Respond to contributor questions involving clinical reasoning, terminology, evidence, patient safety, medical claims, and rubric interpretation.
* Contact inactive trainers and QAs, encourage participation, document follow-ups, and flag availability concerns.
* Create and maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, quality notes, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, and onboarding materials.
* Conduct remote onboarding and training sessions for medical trainers, reviewers, and QAs.
* Ensure contributors apply evolving medical quality standards consistently.
* Analyze recurring quality failures and recommend improvements to review workflows.
* Maintain organized records of reviews, feedback, contributor performance, and corrective actions.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MD, DO, MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent.
* Advanced clinical, biomedical, nursing, pharmacy, or healthcare-related qualifications may be considered depending on project requirements.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical practice, medical research, medical education, clinical documentation, healthcare QA, guideline review, medical writing, or a related field.
* Strong English communication skills for interpreting project instructions and delivering precise medical feedback.
* Sound understanding of clinical reasoning, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, diagnostics, and treatment principles.
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology, evidence-based medicine, patient safety, and healthcare communication.
* Ability to identify unsafe advice, missing caveats, unsupported conclusions, and clinically inappropriate recommendations.
* Familiarity with clinical guidelines, diagnostic pathways, medication safety, chart review, case summaries, or medical literature.
* Ability to assess whether medical content is suitable for general education or risks being interpreted as professional advice.
* Strong attention to clinical, factual, linguistic, and procedural detail.
* Experience leading or supporting clinicians, researchers, medical writers, trainers, annotators, reviewers, or QA teams is strongly preferred.
* Ability to apply detailed review rubrics consistently across high-volume medical content.
* Confidence using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.
* Experience creating calibration tasks, style guides, onboarding materials, FAQs, and quality documentation is beneficial.
* Familiarity with AI training, data annotation, large language model evaluation, medical content QA, or rubric-based review is advantageous.
* Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving remote environment.
