Role Context
This role is responsible for on-site supervision of civil works associated with cycle track and public infrastructure projects. The Assistant Resident Engineer ensures quality, compliance, and coordination across contractors and stakeholders while maintaining alignment with municipal standards and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise construction activities related to cycle tracks, pavements, kerbs, and drainage systems
* Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and local authority regulations
* Review material submissions, shop drawings, and method statements for technical accuracy
* Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to maintain smooth workflow
* Conduct inspections and prepare detailed progress and quality reports
* Verify quantities and support evaluation of contractor variations and claims
* Monitor construction schedules and ensure timely project delivery
* Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards on site
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
* 8 to 10 years of experience in civil construction supervision, preferably in UAE
* Strong understanding of roadworks, drainage systems, and utilities coordination
* Familiarity with Abu Dhabi Municipality and DMT standards
* Good communication and reporting skills with ability to coordinate multiple teams
* Experience in public realm or cycle track projects is an advantage
