Role Context
The Assistant Resident Engineer - Landscape supports the Resident Engineer in delivering landscape and public realm works that must meet approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, authority requirements, and project schedules. The role connects landscape construction with infrastructure, utilities, architectural, structural, MEP, irrigation, and public space interfaces to ensure works are coordinated and ready for inspection, commissioning, closeout, and handover. Strong supervision, reporting, and contractor coordination are essential to maintaining quality, safety, progress, and asset readiness across large-scale Dubai developments.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise landscape construction activities including hardscape, softscape, irrigation systems, parks, playgrounds, jogging tracks, street furniture, and public realm works.
* Monitor daily site activities to ensure landscape works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, authority requirements, and project quality standards.
* Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection and test plans, technical submissions, and construction documentation related to landscape and irrigation works.
* Inspect landscape materials before installation, including plants, trees, shrubs, soil, paving materials, irrigation components, external finishes, street furniture, and public realm elements.
* Coordinate with contractors to maintain progress against approved construction programs and identify delays, access issues, resource gaps, or quality concerns.
* Work with infrastructure, utilities, architecture, structural, and MEP teams to resolve site interface issues affecting landscape delivery.
* Conduct regular site inspections and record observations related to quality, safety, progress, workmanship, and specification compliance.
* Prepare snagging reports, non-conformance reports, site observation records, and corrective action follow-up documentation.
* Verify completed works, site measurements, and quantities for contractor progress valuations and payment application support.
* Ensure health, safety, and environmental requirements are properly implemented across landscape construction activities.
* Review and verify as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, testing records, and closeout documents for landscape works.
* Attend technical meetings, progress meetings, coordination meetings, authority discussions, and stakeholder reviews as required.
* Support testing and commissioning activities for irrigation systems, water features, pumps, controls, and related landscape assets.
* Assist with inspections, project closeout, asset handover, and final acceptance of landscape works by the client, end user, or relevant authorities.
* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports covering landscape activities, site issues, contractor performance, inspections, and pending approvals.
* Coordinate authority inspections and support documentation required for Dubai Municipality and relevant UAE authority procedures.
* Provide practical site direction to contractors while escalating critical technical, quality, safety, or schedule matters to the Resident Engineer.
* Support proper record keeping for approvals, inspections, correspondence, test results, as-built information, and handover files.
* Help ensure landscape assets are delivered with suitable long-term maintainability, plant health, irrigation performance, and public realm quality.

Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

* GCC or UAE project experience is highly preferred.
* Arabic speaker is required.
