BIM and CAD Technician - Roads and Highways Dubai

Position Overview
As a BIM/CAD Technician, you will work closely with digital delivery leads, engineers, and drafters to execute road design drawings in line with BIM standards and project QA/QC protocols. The role involves managing highway CAD deliverables, developing parametric families, resolving clashes, and preparing outputs for infrastructure authorities.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare highway engineering drawings including layouts, signage, markings, flow sheets, and detailed assemblies
* Support highway design teams in developing AutoCAD and BIM deliverables based on PIDs, sketches, and specifications
* Collaborate with digital delivery and QA/QC teams to ensure timely and standards-compliant outputs
* Manage BIM-related activities across the lifecycle of infrastructure projects
* Review CAD files for quality, standards adherence, and model coordination
* Create and maintain parametric and non-parametric families in BIM models
* Perform clash detection using Navisworks and generate clash reports
* Support quantity takeoffs, scheduling, and model updates for road projects
* Coordinate design inputs with other disciplines and resolve layout conflicts
* Use CDE platforms like ProjectWise and Autodesk BIM360/ACC for file management
Candidate Requirements
* Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years of CAD drafting experience in roads, highways, traffic signs, and transportation infrastructure in UAE or GCC
* Expertise in AutoCAD and understanding of BIM modeling processes and LOD levels
* Familiarity with ProjectWise and BIM360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud
* Excellent communication and coordination skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
* Hands-on experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, OpenRoads, MicroStation, or Navisworks
* Experience working with Dubai or UAE highway authorities on infrastructure projects
* Strong knowledge of traffic studies and digital clash resolution workflows
