Role Context
The BIM Manager - Digital Delivery will lead the implementation, coordination, and performance monitoring of BIM processes on a complex railway infrastructure project. The role connects digital delivery strategy, ISO 19650 documentation, model coordination, client information requirements, asset performance considerations, and multidisciplinary design checks. By improving information flow, model accuracy, workflow efficiency, and digital compliance, the position supports better decision-making, reduced design clashes, and stronger project delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Enforce the project Digital Delivery strategy and promote innovation across BIM, information management, design coordination, and digital project workflows.
* Lead BIM execution across the railway project by aligning project teams, clients, appointed parties, and stakeholders with approved digital delivery requirements.
* Develop, maintain, and update BIM documentation in line with ISO 19650, PAS 1192, client requirements, project standards, and international best practices.
* Provide guidance to the client and supply chain on emerging technologies, asset information requirements, asset performance, and operational handover needs.
* Assess appointed parties and support BIM mobilization, digital onboarding, BIM kick-off meetings, and project information management readiness.
* Create detailed work process maps to streamline design coordination, model exchange, review cycles, approval workflows, and information delivery.
* Monitor compliance with BIM Execution Plans, Master Information Delivery Plans, Task Information Delivery Plans, model standards, and digital deliverables.
* Conduct regular BIM coordination meetings to review model progress, design integration, clash resolution, information quality, and team alignment.
* Organize digital workshops to improve project team capability in BIM workflows, model coordination, digital tools, standards, and information management.
* Facilitate lessons learned sessions to identify process improvements, recurring coordination issues, technology gaps, and future efficiency opportunities.
* Perform interdisciplinary design checks to ensure model accuracy, technical integration, spatial coordination, and consistency across project disciplines.
* Use Power BI and online platforms to monitor BIM performance, implementation progress, compliance indicators, coordination status, and reporting dashboards.
* Provide flexible support to BIM Coordinators when required, including model review, coordination follow-up, documentation checks, and team guidance.
* Coordinate with engineering, architecture, construction, systems, operations, client, and stakeholder teams to ensure digital outputs support project requirements.
* Ensure digital deliverables are structured, traceable, accurate, and aligned with client information requirements and international standards.
* Support model-based coordination for rail infrastructure, stations, systems interfaces, civil works, operational assets, and future maintenance requirements.
* Promote practical use of BIM data to support design quality, construction readiness, asset management, and operational planning.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline from a recognized institution or university.
* Minimum 15 years of experience in BIM, digital delivery, project information management, or model-based coordination.
* Strong working experience with PAS 1192 and ISO 19650 standards.
* Proficient in Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Navisworks, Revit, and related BIM coordination platforms.
* Strong understanding of digital delivery strategies, emerging construction technologies, model coordination, and information management workflows.
* Ability to develop and maintain BIM documentation aligned with client requirements, ISO standards, and international digital delivery practices.
* Experienced in conducting BIM coordination meetings, digital workshops, lessons learned sessions, and multidisciplinary model review discussions.
* Skilled in interdisciplinary design checking to improve integration, accuracy, and technical consistency across complex project deliverables.
* Competent in monitoring BIM implementation and digital performance through Power BI, online dashboards, and project tracking tools.
* Strong leadership ability with experience guiding BIM Coordinators, engineering teams, appointed parties, and supply chain participants.
* Able to interface effectively with clients, consultants, stakeholders, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
* Good knowledge of asset performance, operations requirements, digital handover, and structured asset information in a BIM environment.
* Experienced in developing work process maps that improve project workflows, reporting clarity, and coordination efficiency.
* Strong English communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, lead meetings, respond to stakeholder concerns, and support formal project communication.
* Effective in a multi-organizational project environment with the ability to build collaborative working relationships and resolve coordination challenges.
