Position Overview
CAD Draftsman in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a focused Civil Engineering opportunity for drafting professionals experienced in 2D and 3D CAD drawings, infrastructure layouts, RTA or Dubai Municipality project documentation, construction drawings, shop drawings, and as-built records. This role supports engineering and site teams by preparing accurate drawings, managing revisions, coordinating multidisciplinary updates, and ensuring all drafting outputs follow project specifications, authority standards, and QA/QC requirements.

Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings, including plans, profiles, sections, details, layouts, and infrastructure drawing packages.
* Develop construction drawings based on IFC documents, tender drawings, authority-approved drawings, and project requirements.
* Update and revise drawings based on site conditions, RFIs, engineer comments, client feedback, redlines, and approved design changes.
* Coordinate with engineers, planners, inspectors, and site supervision teams to incorporate technical updates into drawing packages.
* Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, CAD standards, authority requirements, and internal drafting procedures.
* Maintain drawing registers, version control, revision history, proper file naming, and organized digital or hardcopy records.
* Prepare as-built drawings using approved redlines, site records, inspection updates, and final construction information.
* Assist in the preparation of shop drawings, utility layouts, coordination drawings, and multidisciplinary interface drawings.
* Support civil, structural, MEP, utilities, and infrastructure teams by updating drawings for coordination and clash reduction.
* Carry out basic quantity take-offs and drawing measurements when required by engineers or project teams.
* Ensure drawing submissions are completed on time and aligned with project schedules.
* Archive and manage drawings so project teams can retrieve the latest approved versions quickly and accurately.
* Follow company QA/QC procedures, drafting best practices, and document control requirements across all assigned work.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
* Three-year diploma with an equivalency certificate is mandatory where applicable.
* 6-10 years of experience in CAD drafting for civil engineering, infrastructure, transportation, utilities, or construction projects.
* Minimum 3-4 years of UAE experience is mandatory.
* Experience on RTA or Dubai Municipality projects will be an added advantage.
* Strong ability to prepare plans, profiles, sections, details, shop drawings, utility layouts, and as-built drawings.
* Good understanding of infrastructure drawings, civil works coordination, authority standards, and site documentation requirements.
* Skilled in managing drawing revisions, registers, file control, version history, and submission deadlines.
* Able to work closely with engineers, inspectors, planners, and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-moving project environment.
* Detail-focused, organized, and committed to accurate drafting, clear documentation, and timely delivery.
