Role Context
The CAD Operator - As-Built Works supports the construction supervision team by producing and maintaining accurate as-built documentation for the Mid Island Parkway infrastructure project. The role helps protect project close-out quality by converting approved shop drawings, red-line markups, field changes, Engineer’s Instructions, site records, and survey information into reliable final drawings. Strong attention to detail, document control discipline, and coordination with multidisciplinary site teams are essential to ensure drawings reflect actual site conditions and meet client, authority, and Parsons drafting standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, update, and maintain as-built drawings based on approved shop drawings, red-line markups, site records, field changes, and survey information.
* Verify contractor-submitted as-built drawings for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with approved construction records.
* Check that as-built drawings reflect actual site conditions and properly capture completed infrastructure works.
* Incorporate approved field changes, variations, Engineer’s Instructions, and construction updates into as-built documentation.
* Produce and revise CAD drawings for major infrastructure works including roads, bridges, tunnels, marine works, utilities, and associated civil elements.
* Coordinate with discipline engineers, inspectors, surveyors, and construction supervision teams to resolve drawing discrepancies.
* Review drawing information against site records, survey data, red-line markups, and approved project documents.
* Ensure all drawings comply with project CAD standards, local authority requirements, and Parsons drafting standards.
* Maintain drawing registers, revision logs, document control records, and submission tracking information.
* Apply proper revision control to ensure updated drawing packages are traceable and ready for review.
* Support preparation of handover and close-out documentation, including final as-built submissions to the client and authorities.
* Coordinate with document control teams to ensure drawings are filed, named, transmitted, and archived correctly.
* Manage multiple drawing packages under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and drafting quality.
* Support project teams with CAD updates, drawing extracts, markups, and technical drafting assistance when required.
* Perform other drafting and as-built coordination responsibilities assigned by project leadership.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma or bachelor degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years of related work experience on infrastructure construction projects.
* Experience in a construction supervision, PMC, or engineering consultancy environment is preferred.
* Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
* Solid experience in as-built drawing production and verification for infrastructure construction projects.
* Ability to interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, red-line markups, survey data, site records, and field instructions.
* Good understanding of infrastructure works including roads, bridges, tunnels, marine works, and utilities.
* Experience on large-scale infrastructure or highway projects in Abu Dhabi or the UAE is preferred.
* Familiarity with local authority requirements, including DMT, ITC, and utility authority standards, will be an advantage.
* Experience supporting project handover and close-out stages is preferred.
* High attention to detail with the ability to manage drawing revisions, registers, and multiple submission packages.
* Strong coordination and communication skills for working with engineers, surveyors, inspectors, document controllers, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
