Position Overview
Parsons is seeking an experienced Civil 3D BIM Modeler to support roads and highways project delivery from its Abu Dhabi, UAE office. Working with the BIM Coordinator, CAD-BIM Manager, Design Leads, and engineering teams, the role will develop and coordinate Civil 3D models and engineering drawings while supporting BIM implementation, multidisciplinary coordination, clash detection, quantity extraction, digital documentation, and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

What You\'ll Be Doing
- Work closely with the CAD-BIM Manager and Design Leads to maintain compliance with established
project policies, processes, and delivery requirements.
- Support implementation of BIM requirements from project startup through completion.
- Coordinate with different CAD teams to manage design inputs, identify clashes, and support timely delivery.
- Develop engineering drawings from sketches, layouts, design information, and engineering inputs using established standards and procedures.
- Produce basic arrangements, layouts, assemblies, isometrics, component details, and related technical drawings.
- Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D for 2D and 3D design development.
- Coordinate with BIM Leads, Design Leads, and Engineers throughout model and drawing production.
- Review drawings for readability, presentation quality, technical consistency, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Follow Parsons QA-QC processes for model and drawing production.
Civil 3D and BIM Modeling
The Civil 3D BIM Modeler will support model-based delivery for roads and highways projects, requiring advanced working knowledge of Civil 3D and the ability to establish project files and modeling environments for wider project teams.
Responsibilities include developing parametric and non-parametric content, maintaining Civil 3D object libraries, creating assemblies and sub-assemblies, supporting federated model development, and working with shared coordinates and coordinated project information.
The role also requires the ability to perform clash detection, extract information from models, and maintain consistency with project-specific BIM requirements.
Digital Coordination and Model Management
- Coordinate design information between multidisciplinary teams.
- Identify and communicate model conflicts and design discrepancies.
- Support clash and clearance detection activities.
- Create and maintain Civil 3D families and objects according to project requirements.
- Maintain project modeling standards and Civil 3D libraries.
- Support federated model development.
- Work with Civil 3D Links and Worksets where required by project workflows.
- Apply shared coordinate principles within coordinated models.
- Produce schedules and quantity information from project models.
- Support model-based quantity take-off activities.
Drawing and Information Quality
Review drawings and model outputs before issue to verify presentation, readability, consistency, and adherence to established standards. The position will apply quality control processes during design development to identify errors early and reduce avoidable revisions.
The Civil 3D BIM Modeler will also maintain accurate records of design changes, drawing revisions, and project updates to support traceability and future auditing.
Digital Documentation
- Maintain documentation of design changes and drawing revisions.
- Record relevant model and project updates.
- Manage digital archiving of completed drawings and supporting documents.
- Maintain an organized information structure for efficient retrieval.
