Role Context
The Civil Engineer - Construction Support will assist project leadership in managing civil construction activities across assigned infrastructure work areas in Riyadh. The position requires strong field coordination, practical engineering judgment, and the ability to monitor site progress while resolving technical and construction-related issues before they affect safety, quality, or schedule. Working with contractors, consultants, construction managers, and multidisciplinary teams, the role helps maintain site discipline, accurate documentation, and smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and attend meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, construction management teams, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support delivery progress.
* Review site preparation activities and temporary works to confirm compliance with contract requirements, approved drawings, and construction documents.
* Monitor civil construction activities and verify that works are completed in line with specifications, drawings, quality requirements, and project standards.
* Enforce compliance with project safety, security, health, and environmental requirements across assigned site activities.
* Monitor construction progress and support verification of progress payments, completed quantities, and schedule performance.
* Conduct daily coordination meetings with site teams to review progress, identify potential delays, and align actions with project objectives.
* Support corrective actions where construction activities deviate from approved plans, quality requirements, or schedule expectations.
* Assist the Project Manager in supervising and managing construction works within the assigned scope.
* Support construction planning, activity sequencing, site coordination, and delivery monitoring in accordance with the Project Quality Plan.
* Conduct regular site inspections and evaluate subcontractor performance against quality, safety, workmanship, and contract requirements.
* Identify construction issues, discrepancies, missing information, and field constraints that may affect quality, progress, or safety.
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support effective integration of civil works with structural, architectural, MEP, utilities, rail, transportation, and infrastructure systems.
* Prepare and maintain project documentation, progress reports, meeting records, site observations, inspection notes, and action trackers.
* Support resolution of technical queries, site coordination challenges, access constraints, and construction interface issues.
* Maintain clear communication with contractors and consultants to ensure timely follow-up on pending actions and project requirements.
* Help project teams maintain accurate site records for reporting, quality control, payment verification, and construction closeout.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
* Saudi National candidate required.
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, construction supervision, infrastructure projects, or major construction delivery.
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, construction documents, and multidisciplinary interfaces.
* Good knowledge of construction site management, project delivery processes, quality assurance, and safety requirements.
* Ability to monitor site activities, identify technical issues, evaluate construction discrepancies, and recommend practical solutions.
* Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, clients, construction managers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
* Understanding of construction planning, sequencing, progress monitoring, payment verification, and project documentation.
* Experience on rail, metro, transportation, infrastructure, utilities, or major construction projects is advantageous.
* Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving site environment with multiple stakeholders and changing project priorities.
* Detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, compliance, and accurate site records.
