Role Context
This site-based position will help ensure that stormwater and underground utility works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, contract requirements, and current authority regulations. The engineer
will coordinate with the Resident Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer, contractors, and inspection personnel to resolve site matters and maintain construction progress.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor daily construction activities involving stormwater networks and underground infrastructure.
* Supervise microtunnelling, pipe-jacking, and trenchless construction operations at the project site.
* Verify the contractor\'s compliance with approved construction documents and the latest authority regulations.
* Assist with technical reviews of shop drawings, material submissions, requests for information, and related contractor documents.
* Provide clear on-site engineering direction within the authority delegated by project management.
* Support the supervision and coordination of site inspection personnel.
* Inspect completed activities and verify measurements used for progress assessment.
* Monitor contractor manpower, equipment, and other resource allocations against site requirements.
* Identify construction issues and promptly report findings to the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
* Observe site safety practices and actively support project health and safety requirements.
* Coordinate with the project safety representative when corrective intervention is required.
* Help review as-built drawings, completion records, and other project closeout documentation.
* Perform additional engineering duties relevant to successful project delivery.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a bachelor\'s degree in civil engineering and have at least eight years of experience on infrastructure projects. Demonstrable involvement in the construction and supervision of microtunnelling, pipe jacking, or comparable trenchless technology works is mandatory.
Experience delivering projects in Dubai is preferred because the position requires familiarity with local authority requirements and established site practices. Exposure to fast-track construction environments will also be valuable.
The successful candidate should be comfortable using engineering and office software and capable of communicating site instructions, technical findings, and progress concerns logically and clearly.
