Position Overview
Parsons is hiring a Civil Inspector in Abu Dhabi, UAE to oversee daily operations and maintenance activities performed by O and M contractors across civil infrastructure and landscape-related assets. The role involves field inspections, testing, verification, maintenance monitoring, contractor oversight, inspection records, and reporting to the Assistant Resident Engineer and Resident Engineer.
The Civil Inspector will cover a varied portfolio of assets, including roads, roadway signage, pedestrian bridges, security gates, closed canals, beach areas, plant nurseries, and associated infrastructure. The position requires significant Abu Dhabi or UAE civil inspection experience and a strong commitment to quality and safe
working practices.

What You\'ll Be Doing
* Conduct field inspections, tests, evaluations, verifications, and documentation covering contractor operations and maintenance activities.
* Inspect preventive and corrective maintenance across civil systems, including roads, roadway signage, beach maintenance and cleaning, security gates and logistics, plant nursery maintenance, pedestrian bridges, and closed canals.
* Support landscape, electrical, and mechanical inspectors with civil-related inspection activities at site.
* Oversee routine daily operations and maintenance work performed by O and M contractors and identify defects, issues, or additional work requirements.
* Verify that civil and structural construction, operations, and maintenance activities comply with approved plans and specifications.
* Coordinate daily with the contractor responsible for the work to monitor performance and proper execution.
* Process Inspection Requests and maintain accurate records of their status.
* Report questionable construction or maintenance methods to the Assistant Resident Engineer or Resident Engineer.
* Report contractor failures to comply with drawings, specifications, or required workmanship standards.
* Maintain detailed records when contractor activities are performed on a Day Works basis.
Inspection Records and Reporting
* Prepare inspection reports, progress reports, and other site records required by the contract, client, or PMC team.
* Maintain a detailed daily diary covering work activities, site issues, approved or rejected work, operating hours, labour, equipment, and other relevant information.
* Complete and sign daily records as directed by the Assistant Resident Engineer.
* Maintain clear documentation supporting inspection findings and contractor performance.
* Communicate identified issues promptly to the appropriate project supervision personnel.
Site and Stakeholder Coordination
The Civil Inspector will maintain regular coordination with contractors and other inspection disciplines to support effective site operations. The role also involves interaction with members of the public and stakeholders adjacent to work areas to help mitigate construction-related impacts.
The position requires a professional and firm approach when dealing with contractors while maintaining effective working relationships across the site supervision team.
What Required Skills You\'ll Bring
* Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Agricultural Engineering from a recognized university.
* UAE Ministry of Education equivalency certificate is mandatory.
* Minimum 4 years of experience inspecting O and M infrastructure or landscape projects.
* Significant experience inspecting civil works in Abu Dhabi or elsewhere in the UAE.
* Strong analytical capabilities.
* Ability to work independently.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Commitment to quality and safe working practices.
