Role Context
The Civil Inspector will serve as an on-site quality checkpoint across multiple infrastructure work fronts. Regular observation and accurate documentation will help ensure that contractor activities follow approved drawings, specifications,
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect the construction and maintenance of roads and associated infrastructure.
* Monitor curb, gutter, street, sidewalk, and related improvement works.
* Inspect drainage systems and utility installations during construction.
* Observe traffic-control arrangements and verify compliance with approved requirements.
* Check the installation of traffic-signal equipment, ramp-metering systems, and street lighting.
* Inspect irrigation networks, planting activities, and roadside landscaping.
* Monitor the removal and installation of roadway and overhead signs.
* Verify temporary and permanent traffic signs and delineation measures.
* Inspect building and facility construction associated with infrastructure development.
* Check completed work against approved drawings, technical specifications, and applicable standards.
* Identify visible defects or non-compliant activities and report them to the responsible engineer.
* Maintain clear records of daily inspections and site observations.
* Take dated project photographs each day and organize them within the project filing system.
* Coordinate inspection activities with engineers, contractors, and other site personnel.
* Monitor corrective work and confirm that reported issues are properly addressed.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should hold a diploma or bachelor\'s degree in civil engineering or a related field. At least three years of construction supervision experience is required, including direct exposure to roads, utilities, and supporting infrastructure works.
Applicants must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, construction specifications, and relevant technical documentation. They should understand common civil construction processes and recognize work that does not meet approved requirements.
Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are important for this position.
