Key Responsibilities
* Inspect road construction, bridge works, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, streetscape elements, landscaping interfaces, and related civil improvements.
* Monitor drainage works, utility installations, traffic control systems, lighting, signage, and associated infrastructure activities.
* Observe electrical installations linked to traffic signals, ramp metering, street lighting, and roadway control systems.
* Inspect irrigation, planting works, roadway signs, overhead signs, temporary signage, permanent signs, and delineation installations.
* Verify that construction work follows approved drawings, project specifications, codes, standards, and contract requirements.
* Check that only approved materials are used on site and report any non-compliant materials, workmanship, or installation methods.
* Maintain daily inspection records, site photographs, quantity calculations, daily diaries, and project documentation.
* Prepare daily reports, quality records, safety inputs, and other inspection documentation required by the contract.
* Conduct or witness field and laboratory-related tests such as soil compaction, moisture content, aggregate gradation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression, line and grade surveys, bolt torque checks, and concrete coring.
* Monitor installed quantities and support verification of payment applications, measured works, and change order items.
* Identify site conflicts, technical issues, quality concerns, and safety risks, then report them to the supervisor with practical recommendations.
* Coordinate with subconsultants for surveying, material testing, and inspection-related activities.
* Maintain as-built records and support accurate tracking of field changes during construction.
* Provide guidance to junior inspectors when required and support emergency call-backs at the project site.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related technical field.
* Minimum 5 years of construction supervision experience on infrastructure projects, including road works and utilities in the UAE.
* Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, inspection procedures, and civil engineering documentation.
* Practical understanding of roads, bridges, drainage, utilities, traffic control, lighting, signage, and site development works.
* Familiarity with UAE standards and international codes related to infrastructure construction and inspection.
* Strong field judgment with the ability to work independently while maintaining clear reporting and coordination with supervisors.
* Good written and verbal communication skills for preparing daily reports, inspection comments, and site updates.
* Detail-focused approach with commitment to quality, safety, compliance, and accurate project documentation.
