The Civil Inspector - Roads Infrastructure supports successful project execution by inspecting site activities, confirming compliance with approved plans, and helping maintain quality control across road and utility infrastructure works. The role contributes to safe, accurate, and well-documented construction delivery by coordinating with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders, identifying discrepancies, preparing reports, and ensuring inspection records remain complete, current, and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee construction activities to ensure works comply with approved plans, drawings, specifications, standards, and project requirements.
* Perform regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, workmanship quality, and compliance with approved procedures.
* Inspect roadworks, utility infrastructure, civil works, and related construction activities within the assigned area.
* Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, technical specifications, and site documentation before inspection activities.
* Identify construction discrepancies, quality issues, incomplete works, and deviations from approved requirements.
* Coordinate with contractors, engineers, consultants, and site stakeholders to resolve construction issues and technical concerns.
* Maintain detailed records of inspection results, approved works, rejected works, corrective actions, and site observations.
* Prepare clear inspection reports and support comprehensive documentation for project records.
* Enforce adherence to site safety regulations, quality control standards, and company inspection procedures.
* Support implementation of standardized inspection procedures, quality protocols, and construction supervision practices.
* Organize and manage inspection records to ensure documentation is accurate, complete, updated, and easy to retrieve.
* Monitor contractor workmanship and report recurring defects, unsafe practices, or non-compliant activities to the relevant engineer.
* Communicate site findings clearly with management, project staff, contractors, and supervision team members.
* Support progress tracking by providing accurate inspection updates and field observations.
* Assist project teams in maintaining quality, safety, and documentation discipline across active construction areas.
* Perform other inspection and construction supervision responsibilities associated with the role as assigned.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor degree or diploma in Civil Engineering.
* Minimum 7 years of experience in construction supervision of roads and infrastructure projects.
* Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction specifications, approved drawings, and related technical documents.
* Thorough familiarity with construction processes related to the assigned inspection area.
* Experience in Abu Dhabi, UAE, or GCC projects within an engineering consulting firm is preferred.
* Good oral and written communication skills for reporting, coordination, and site communication.
* Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management, staff, contractors, and project stakeholders.
* Strong understanding of roadworks, utility infrastructure, workmanship standards, quality control, and site safety requirements.
