Role Summary
Director Commercial Management in Dubai will provide strategic and operational leadership for AECOM, ensuring high-quality service delivery, strong commercial performance, and effective governance across projects and business operations. This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping commercial strategy, overseeing financial outcomes, strengthening client relationships, supporting project delivery excellence, and developing high-performing teams within a global infrastructure consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead commercial management strategy across the assigned operating unit to support business growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
* Provide senior leadership for project delivery, financial performance, client engagement, and commercial governance.
* Shape and execute commercial plans that align with AECOM’s strategic vision and regional business objectives.
* Oversee project commercial performance, ensuring delivery teams meet contractual, financial, quality, and client service expectations.
* Monitor revenue, margins, cost control, forecasting, risk exposure, and overall financial health across assigned projects or portfolios.
* Support business planning, budgeting, commercial reporting, and performance reviews for the operating unit.
* Provide strategic guidance on contracts, commercial risks, claims, variations, procurement, and project controls.
* Work closely with project directors, operations leaders, finance teams, legal teams, and client account leaders to resolve commercial issues.
* Strengthen client relationships by supporting high-value engagement, contract performance, service quality, and long-term partnership development.
* Identify commercial opportunities, operational improvements, and strategic initiatives that enhance business performance.
* Support bid strategy, proposal reviews, pricing decisions, contract negotiations, and commercial risk assessment for new opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, governance procedures, contractual obligations, and applicable regional regulations.
* Lead, mentor, and develop commercial management professionals and project team members.
* Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, commercial discipline, quality service, and continuous improvement.
* Provide executive-level reporting and recommendations to senior leadership on project performance, risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
Candidate Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
* Master’s Degree, MRICS, FRICS, PMP, or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
* Extensive senior-level commercial management experience within engineering consulting, infrastructure, construction, project management, or related professional services.
* Proven ability to lead commercial strategy, financial governance, contract management, and project portfolio performance.
* Strong experience managing commercial risks, claims, variations, cost control, forecasting, and contractual obligations.
* Excellent understanding of project delivery, consulting services, infrastructure projects, and multidisciplinary business operations.
* Strong client engagement skills with the ability to support strategic accounts, negotiations, and long-term business relationships.
* Ability to lead senior stakeholders, influence business decisions, and provide clear commercial direction.
* Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement, financial reporting, project controls, and commercial governance.
* Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
* UAE or Middle East experience in infrastructure, engineering, or construction consulting is preferred.
* Ability to develop teams, improve commercial processes, and support sustainable business growth.
