Key Responsibilities
* Lead commercial management strategy across the operating unit, aligning project delivery, financial performance, client priorities, and business growth objectives.
* Contribute to the company’s strategic direction and translate business priorities into clear operational goals, work plans, and commercial actions.
* Influence senior stakeholders and regional teams to ensure alignment, accountability, and commitment to strategic objectives.
* Monitor market trends, client needs, and business risks to adapt strategies that support competitiveness, profitability, and sustainable growth.
* Establish operating objectives and delegate responsibilities to managers, commercial teams, and multidisciplinary project leaders.
* Oversee project delivery throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring commercial control, technical quality, client satisfaction, and governance compliance.
* Ensure projects follow internal quality assurance standards, delivery governance, risk controls, and company policies.
* Develop and manage financial plans for the regional business unit, with accountability for full P&L performance.
* Drive profitability by improving commercial discipline, resource planning, cost control, revenue performance, and margin protection.
* Build and maintain a strong pipeline of future opportunities through market insight, client engagement, and strategic business development.
* Lead relationships with key clients, focusing on major opportunities, long-term partnerships, and accounts of strategic importance.
* Present project deliverables, commercial insights, benchmark data, and value-driven recommendations to clients and leadership teams.
* Promote collaboration across regional, technical, commercial, and cross-functional teams to strengthen delivery outcomes.
* Build a high-performance culture by identifying, mentoring, and developing key talent across the commercial management function.
* Champion innovation, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and best practice adoption across teams and projects.
Ideal Profile
* Minimum 20 years of post-undergraduate experience in commercial management, quantity surveying, engineering, construction consultancy, or major infrastructure project delivery.
* Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited and internationally recognized institution.
* MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation is required or strongly preferred.
* Proven record of leading commercial teams, regional business units, complex projects, and multidisciplinary delivery groups.
* Strong financial acumen with experience managing full P&L performance, profitability, forecasting, cost control, and sustainable business growth.
* Deep understanding of construction lifecycle delivery, commercial governance, project controls, contracts, client reporting, and quality assurance standards.
* Ability to shape strategy, influence senior stakeholders, and translate business objectives into measurable operating plans.
* Strong client relationship management skills with experience building pipelines, supporting bids, securing future work, and strengthening strategic accounts.
* Confident presenting complex commercial, financial, and project information to executive leaders and clients.
* Skilled in talent development, leadership mentoring, performance culture building, and cross-functional collaboration.
