Key Responsibilities
* Participate in AECOM’s ADVANCE graduate program and complete learning activities designed to build business, personal, and technical skills.
* Support experienced engineers with geotechnical design tasks, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
* Collect, review, and analyze engineering and ground investigation data under professional supervision.
* Use engineering software to solve basic geotechnical and civil engineering problems.
* Assist with geotechnical investigations, assessment of ground parameters, and preparation of ground models for different design situations.
* Support shallow foundation design, deep foundation design, earthworks design, embankment assessment, and slope design activities.
* Learn excavation lateral support design, ground improvement design, liquefaction assessment, geophysical survey interpretation, and seismic design principles.
* Gain exposure to geotechnical aspects of dam design and complex ground engineering projects.
* Complete assigned work in line with agreed budget, project schedule, technical direction, and supervision requirements.
* Coordinate with civil, structural, transportation, and infrastructure teams to understand how geotechnical design supports wider project delivery.
* Prepare clear technical inputs, notes, calculations, and supporting documentation for review by senior engineers.
* Build professional judgment by learning from project feedback, mentoring, and practical design review sessions.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor of Science or Engineering from an accredited university in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering, or a closely related subject.
* Master of Science, Master of Engineering, or PhD in a relevant discipline will be preferred.
* Strong interest in geotechnical engineering, ground investigation, foundation design, earthworks, slopes, excavation support, and infrastructure design.
* Familiarity with engineering design principles, data analysis, technical drawings, and engineering calculations.
* Willingness to learn specialist software such as Slope-W, Slide, Seep-W, Plaxis 2D, RS2, Sigma-W, Repute, Group, LPile, or equivalent tools.
* Good analytical thinking with the ability to review data, follow engineering logic, and solve basic technical problems under supervision.
* Able to work within a team environment and learn from experienced engineers, project managers, and technical specialists.
* Organized and responsible approach to completing assigned tasks within project budget and schedule requirements.
* Good communication skills for preparing technical inputs, coordinating with colleagues, and participating in project discussions.
