Key Responsibilities
* Perform survey work under the direction and guidance of the Senior Highway Surveyor.
* Establish primary horizontal and vertical control points, including reference ties for re-establishing points in the field.
* Record measurements, rod readings, calculations, levels, coordinates, and field observations accurately in survey field books.
* Check survey work by completing traverse closures, bench circuits, and verification procedures.
* Conduct pre-construction surveys to confirm site conditions, identify obstructions, and support design verification.
* Provide survey input for construction layout, staking, and setting out of roads, pavements, curbs, drainage networks, and utilities.
* Monitor contractor work alignment, levels, grading, and setting-out accuracy against approved design drawings.
* Coordinate with the contractor’s surveyor, Resident Engineer, and supervision team on priorities, measurements, and discrepancies.
* Maintain survey equipment in proper working condition and perform regular calibration checks.
* Assist in preparing as-built drawings, survey records, maps, reports, and supporting project documentation.
* Use GPS, total stations, modern survey software, and other survey instruments to achieve accurate field measurements.
* Follow safety procedures during all survey operations, especially within active roadwork and infrastructure construction areas.
* Support project reporting by maintaining clear survey documentation and traceable measurement records.
* Help resolve site survey issues by checking data, verifying control points, and coordinating corrective actions.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Geodetic Engineering, Surveying, or a related field.
* 7-10 years of land surveying experience, preferably in road, highway, drainage, utility, or infrastructure construction projects.
* Civil Engineering graduate or diploma holder with equivalency certificate and strong experience in setting out similar works.
* Minimum 3-5 years of UAE experience is mandatory.
* DM or RTA approval will be highly valuable for authority-led infrastructure projects.
* Strong knowledge of control points, benchmarks, traverse checks, vertical alignment, grading, and construction setting-out.
* Practical experience with GPS, total stations, survey software, field books, calibration checks, and as-built survey records.
* Able to coordinate professionally with Senior Surveyors, Resident Engineers, contractor surveyors, and site supervision teams.
* Detail-focused, safety-aware, and capable of maintaining accurate records in a live construction environment.
