Role Summary
The Inspector - Electromechanical Systems is responsible for supervising on-site electrical, mechanical, and control system installations, ensuring all works meet approved specifications, testing standards, and regulatory requirements while supporting commissioning and handover processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise electromechanical works including electrical systems, mechanical installations, instrumentation, and control systems
* Review shop drawings, method statements, material submissions, inspection plans, and as-built documentation
* Witness factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests for equipment such as pumps, switchgear, SCADA systems, and ITS devices
* Ensure compliance with standards such as DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence, NFPA, and IEC codes
* Identify non-conformances, report issues, and ensure corrective actions are completed before handover
* Coordinate with authorities including DEWA, Civil Defence, Etisalat, and Du for inspections and approvals
* Support contractors and engineering teams in resolving technical and interface challenges
* Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities ensuring systems meet performance requirements
* Review operation and maintenance manuals, training materials, and spare parts documentation
* Assist in punch list preparation and system performance verification
* Maintain detailed records of inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
* Prepare regular reports highlighting progress, technical issues, and project milestones
* Support evaluation of claims and variation orders related to electromechanical works
Ideal Profile
* Strong experience in electromechanical inspection within infrastructure or transportation projects
* Knowledge of UAE authority standards and international codes
* Experience working with electrical systems, control systems, and mechanical equipment
* Ability to manage testing, commissioning, and handover processes
* Strong technical coordination and problem-solving skills
* Detail-oriented with strong reporting and documentation capabilities
