Role Summary
The Inspector - Materials Testing is responsible for ensuring that construction materials and site activities comply with approved specifications, standards, and contract requirements. The role supports quality assurance by conducting inspections, monitoring testing processes, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout project execution.
Core Duties
* Inspect site conditions before construction to verify readiness and compatibility with project designs
* Identify and document existing structures, utilities, and site conditions that may be impacted
* Review delivered materials to ensure compliance with approved samples and specifications
* Monitor proper storage and handling of materials and report discrepancies
* Inspect temporary and permanent works to ensure adherence to contract documents and approved drawings
* Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and executed work activities
* Prepare daily reports and logs in accordance with project procedures
* Observe site safety practices and report any concerns to senior engineers
* Assist in inspection of completed works and preparation of snag lists
* Monitor testing, commissioning, and handover processes to ensure compliance
* Review RFIs and contractor requests, providing recommendations for resolution
* Evaluate variation requests and provide technical input to support decision-making
* Ensure enforcement of project specifications through consistent inspection practices
Ideal Profile
* Strong experience in materials testing and inspection within infrastructure projects
* Background in roads and bridges construction projects
* Familiarity with laboratory testing and field sampling procedures
* Knowledge of UAE construction standards and authority requirements
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
