Role Summary
Land Surveyor in Dubai will support AECOM on roads, bridges, highways, and transport infrastructure projects by conducting field surveys, verifying site data, preparing survey records, and supporting accurate construction layouts. This role requires strong UAE infrastructure experience, practical knowledge of survey instruments, data analysis, reporting, boundary verification, and coordination with project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct land surveys to identify natural features, constructed assets, underground elements, and site conditions using electronic distance-measuring equipment and surveying instruments.
* Measure distances, directions, angles, elevations, and coordinates to support accurate project setting-out and boundary verification.
* Analyze survey data, review legal records, and determine boundary line locations based on technical measurements and project requirements.
* Operate land information systems and computer-based survey tools to store data, perform inquiries, generate plots, and prepare reports.
* Record survey results clearly and verify data accuracy before submission to project teams and stakeholders.
* Prepare comprehensive survey maps, field reports, plots, and technical records for roads, bridges, highways, and transport infrastructure works.
* Work independently on routine surveying assignments while maintaining accuracy, safety, and project compliance.
* Support site teams with survey inputs required for construction activities, inspections, and progress verification.
* Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, contractors, and project managers to resolve survey-related site issues.
* Maintain organized records of survey data, calculations, drawings, reports, and field observations.
* Ensure survey activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, and authority expectations.
* Support infrastructure project delivery by providing accurate measurements, reliable reporting, and timely technical feedback.
Candidate Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related construction field.
* Chartered RICS Membership, MRICS, or working towards APC is preferred.
* Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience, including 2-3 years in the Middle East.
* Mandatory 5 years of experience in roads, bridges, highways, or transport projects in the UAE.
* Overall 10+ years of experience in a similar surveying or infrastructure project domain.
* Experience with RTA, Dubai Municipality, roads, bridges, highways, and transport infrastructure projects is required.
* Strong knowledge of surveying instruments, electronic distance-measuring equipment, elevation checks, coordinates, setting-out, and field data verification.
* Ability to analyze survey data, prepare technical reports, generate plots, and maintain accurate project records.
* Good understanding of construction drawings, legal records, boundary data, infrastructure layouts, and site coordination requirements.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on routine assignments.
* Strong attention to detail, accuracy, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
